22nd Birthday Shenanigans

This time last week I turned 22 *sob* I can remember typing up my Birthday post last year like it was last week, gosh how time flies! This year I was taken away for a few days by my lovely boyfriend, he's always done well when it comes to Birthday and Christmas presents but he really outdone himself this time. I didn't know where exactly he was taking me although I was convinced it was Bath and he had me going right up until we pulled into this beautiful driveway in the Cotswolds. Yes I have a terrible sense of direction! (Chippenham and Cheltenham are an easy mistake to make ha) We spent the first couple of days here and we then went onto Bath so I was half right - like always!

**I apologise in advance for this picture heavy post!**

We stayed in a beautiful hotel called The Slaughters Country Inn and it is definitely one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in. The room was huge, although it doesn't look it in the photo, and my favourite part was that it had a bath with legs so the first thing I done was have the biggest bubble bath, it would have been rude not to right?! We had dinner and breakfast here, 'posh' fish & chips and Eggs Benedict for me - god I'm so predictable, and they were both scrummy! The next morning we walked to the next village called Bourton-on-the-Water which had lots of cute and quaint shops which are one of my favourite things when I visit new villages and it reminds me of being little. As much as I love the city growing up in the countryside will always have a place in my heart.
Once we had a snoop about, a cup of tea and an attempt at vlogging we then went onto another village called Burford which we saw on our drive in and a slight awkward/embarrassing/funny story was that a photographer from LA came over to us and said we were the perfect English Rose couple and would it be ok to take our photo? Me being na├»ve and slightly flattered I said ok - why did I say ok?! You know those really cringe-worthy couple snaps you see when someone has been on holiday to Turkey? Yep. I had to do that. With an audience. So in the future if anyone asks to take my photo, not that they ever will, but if they did they will be getting a definite no. After that we then had the most delicious cream tea - even looking at it makes me hungry! I've never been to the Cotswolds before but it really is beautiful and I'll definitely go back in the warmer months as I can imagine it's even more stunning.

We then went onto Bath, my favourite place if you didn't already know. We stayed in the Abbey Hotel which is where we stayed when we came in September and we got a free room upgrade to a suite, things like that never happen to me! The room was amazing so I was really chuffed about that. When we came here last time we tried getting a reservation at a restaurant called Sotto Sotto but couldn't as it's so popular and this time it didn't look like we could either but as luck would have it they had a cancellation so we managed to eat there and it was amazing! If you love Italian then I highly recommend a visit here. We also visited the Thermae Bath Spa which was lovely soaking on the roof top even though it was 6 degrees and again a must have if you ever visit Bath. I didn't take many snaps here as I've already done a blog post on my time here in September which you can read here :)

Another major thing for me over these few days was that I vlogged in public! I doubt the footage will go anywhere as I had a awful cold so I sound like a man in pretty much every single shot but I can safely say it's definitely something I'm looking forward to doing in the future and it's no way near as bad as what you think it's going to be! Yeah you get the few odd stares but I had so much fun doing it!

As you can tell I had a wonderful Birthday and Matt if you're reading this I don't have high expectations for next year at all ;)

Have you ever visited either of these beautiful places before?
