New Reading Material

New Reading Material | Vanity Fairest blog
I got all of these books for £6.00 - 7 books for £6.00!! I have my next few months worth of reading material and they were all for a good cause as I picked these up from a charity shop. I didn't make any new years resolutions (mainly as I fail them within the first week!) but I wanted to make more of a conscious effort to shop in charity shops, I always donate clothes and what not but rarely venture into them and I know I should as they need all the support they can get. I know of people who can walk away with quirky clothing and even antiques, and although that wasn't me this time round I walked away with a bundle of books and my inner bookworm was over the moon! I love nothing more than getting engrossed in a good ole book and couldn't believe I managed to pick up a few of my favourite authors - Cecelia Ahern (I got a hardback book for £1!), Erica James and Greg Bernhardt. Once I've read these I'll pass them onto my Mum, then donate them back to charity and I'll start over again. No more Waterstones for me! Next time you see a charity shop, go in and have a snoop - you'll be so glad you did!

Have you managed to pick up any bargains before?

Hair Bun Tutorial

Hair Bun Tutorial
I get asked on an almost daily basis how I style my hair, especially when it's in a high bun, I love buns they're such a classic. All this look takes is 5 minutes (anything to stay in bed a little longer!), a hair donut and a couple of hair grips. There are lots of ways to use a hair donut but I like mine to have an almost walnut whip effect that looks seamless all round so there won't be any hair bands or grips on show. After lots of attempts, and an almost give up, to photograph this look it's finally here :)

Hair Bun Tutorial
First of all you want to put your hair in a ponytail. Whether it's high or low is up to you my loves and if you want it to be a sleek as how I've done mine a good tip to catch all the fly aways is to brush, spritz with hairspray, brush and then tie with your hairband. I always find that a day or 2 after washing is where you get the best results as your hair is so much more manageable. If you want a little more volume or are after a bit more of a 'I woke up like this' kinda look gently backcomb the front. You then want to pop on your donut/sock and I always backcomb my ponytail, you can see in the photos above the difference in volume and how much more hair you've got to play with. Boo for thin hair!
Hair Bun Tutorial
The next step is SO simple, you just wrap your hair around the donut. That's it! This may take a couple of attempts just to make sure the donut's fully covered but it really is that simple! Once your happy secure with a few hair grips, I normally use 2 or 3 but that's only because my hairs quite fine and all the same length so if you have thicker or layered hair then you'll probably need more. Spritz with hair spray, I always give my bun a little lift for more height (the bigger the better right?!) and you're good to go!

Sometimes wearing your hair the same day in, day out can get a little boring so I love wearing this flower crown from JadoreLexieCouture (review here) as it really dresses up your classic bun beautifully and is something different, trust me you won't see anyone else wearing one of these!
I hope my tutorial was helpful for you lovelies, I can't even begin to explain how hard it is to do a step by step hair guide in photos - even more reason to start a YouTube channel I guess ;)

#nyLDNmeet Goodies

#nyLDNmeet Goodie Bag
As some of you may know from my previous post here, I attended my first blogger meet up a few weeks ago the #nyLDNmeet and I had the best day! I met the loveliest girls, made cocktails, had beautiful henna, was pampered by a beauty therapist and a hair dresser and if that wasn't good enough we also got an amazing goodie bag! I couldn't believe how generous all the brands were so I just want to say a HUGE thank you as I love everything!

The Me Time Tag

I recently saw Jenny from Dream In Pink do this tag which I loved and couldn't wait to do as pamper evenings are like a ritual to me! I also love reading tags as it's a great way to get to know your favourite bloggers a bit more :)
1. What do you watch or read during me-time?
I'm the ultimate film junkie and love watching new films on Now TV. Chick flicks and Disney films are my favourite but a trashy TV programme is my guilty pleasure too! If my head is buried in a book it's most likely to be a romantic story of some sort, who doesn't love a happy ending?!

2. What do you wear during me-time?
I have to be comfy which usually means in my onesie, make up free and the bra is whipped off! (TMI?)
3. What are your me-time beauty products?
I like to have a pamper evening at least once a week and I go all out with all of my favourite, luxurious skin and body products. For me my perfect pamper evening wouldn't be the same without the biggest bubble bath known to man with a bath bomb from Lush, my favourite face scrub from Elemis and face mask from ESPA, a Moroccanoil hair mask, Elemis Frangipani Monoi body oil and depending on how I feel after that then I might paint my nails! You can see my perfect pamper evening from start to finish here.

4. Current favourite nail polish?
Chanel 'Taboo' is still my favourite! It's such a gorgeous indigo/amethyst with glittery sparkles that have a hint of red, bronze and blue to them which has been perfect for the wintery months. Everything about it is perfection and you can read my rave review here.

5. What do you eat/drink during me-time?
A brew is a must! It's my perfect comfort drink and can always make any situation seem that little bit better. I may have a couple of biscuits to dip in as well, would be rude not to..

6. Current favourite candle?
Even though it's a Christmas scent, Yankee Candle Christmas Cookie is my ultimate fave. I always have a candle burning in my room it adds such a cosy ambience not to mention they smell scrummy too!
7. Do you ever have outdoor me-time?
I'm much more of an indoor girl I love being all cosy and snug. If it's sunny I'll go out and laze in the sun or go for a bike ride but if it looks like there's even a slight chance of rain then I'd much rather stay inside and blog (Such a hermit!)

8. Would you ever go see a movie alone?
My friend and I were talking about this the other day funnily enough! I wouldn't choose to go to the cinema on my own but if I really wanted to see a film and no one could come with me then I think I would. I think there's nothing wrong with going on your own, you hardly talk to the people sitting next to you anyway..

9. Favourite online store?
There isn't one particular place I shop in, I like to shop all around and it completely depends on what I'm after. I do love a bit of ASOS though as it has pretty much everything you could possibly need with free delivery which is such a bonus!
10. Anything to add? What else do you do during me-time?
Working on my blog is also a huge part of my me-time routine, this also involves editing my photos, uploading them and using social media such as Instagram, Twitter etc - I absolutely LOVE doing it! I also just love lying on my bed catching up on my favourite Youtubers, as my pamper evenings are mostly on Sunday's I always watch Hannah Maggs - her little family is just too cute! I think everyone needs to take some time out to just relax and unwind every now and then. Whether that's a pamper evening like mine or a hobby - we all need some me-time!

How do you spend your 'me-time'?
Have you done this tag? If you haven't, then I TAG YOU!

22nd Birthday Shenanigans

This time last week I turned 22 *sob* I can remember typing up my Birthday post last year like it was last week, gosh how time flies! This year I was taken away for a few days by my lovely boyfriend, he's always done well when it comes to Birthday and Christmas presents but he really outdone himself this time. I didn't know where exactly he was taking me although I was convinced it was Bath and he had me going right up until we pulled into this beautiful driveway in the Cotswolds. Yes I have a terrible sense of direction! (Chippenham and Cheltenham are an easy mistake to make ha) We spent the first couple of days here and we then went onto Bath so I was half right - like always!
**I apologise in advance for this picture heavy post!**

The Perfect Gift Set For Any Lush Lover

Lush The Art Of Bathing Review
Lush The Art Of Bathing Review
Lush The Art Of Bathing Review
We all know that I'm a huge Lush junkie so when I received this uh-may-zing gift set for my Birthday from my best friend Lydia I was over the moon! I know, how lucky am I?! Who has the best friend ever? *raises hand* We were in Lush a few weeks ago and I remember setting my eyes on this beauty (you know the heart eyes emoji? yeah that was me) and saying to Lyds that this would be the best present ever. Not in a million years did I expect to open this on Monday and I LOVE IT!!! I've been well and truly spoilt and still can't believe I own such a thing of beauty!
Lush The Art Of Bathing Review
Lush The Art Of Bathing Review
The Art Of Bathing gift set is jam packed with 15 of their most popular bath bombs and bubble bars which are my absolute favourite so I'm in seventh heaven right now. The bathtime beauties in this set are Sunnyside, Butterball, Tisty Tosty, Avobath, Fizzbanger, Big Blue, Ceridwen's Cauldron, The Comforter, Granny Takes A Dip, Brightside, Dragon's Egg (we all know how much I love this one!), Think Pink, Rose Jam Bubbleroon, Red Fun and Mmmelting Marshmallow Moment all of which are perfect for the ultimate bathing experience! I've only tried 2 of these before, Dragon's Egg and Sunnyside which I loved, so I'm SO excited to try out the rest. They all smell divine so it's taken a lot of will power to resit temptation and leave these alone until I could photograph them as I'm sure you can imagine!
If you're looking for a gift for someone who loves a pamper and tubtime as much as I do then this is PERFECT - honestly you'll do no better than this! Or even if you're looking to try out some new goodies and want to treat yourself then this is a fab idea as you get everything from fizz, sparkle, floral, fruit and spice!
What are your thoughts on the Art Of Bathing gift set?

A Must Have Lip Liner

Rimmel Eastend Snob Review and Swatches
I brought this gorgeous Rimmel lip liner a couple of weeks ago and it has very quickly become a firm favourite! I've not tried any of Rimmel's lip liners before but I'm very impressed. The shade I have is Eastend Snob which is a beautiful pink, very much like 'your lips but better' and is perfect for everyday. On fairer skin - when I'm au naturel - it does look slightly purple toned, very similar to Mac Snob and I love it! The formula is so creamy when applying, easy to blend and leaves your lips with an almost tacky like feel after so once you've applied your lipstick over the top you know it's staying put. I've ate and drank whilst wearing this and it's still on! For a such a light shade I would say that was amazing wouldn't you?! I also love that this is a wind up pen as I'm not really a fan of pencils (mainly for hygiene reasons) but it's great that you can retract it if you wind it up too far. Whilst I was in London the other day I did have my eyes on Charlotte Tilbury's Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk but when I swatched it, it looked so similar I put it back. So I can tell you that this is a great dupe for a 1/4 of the price!
For £3.99 this is a complete bargain and I've been loving pairing it with Mac Please Me (review HERE) they're my current favourite lip combo!
Have you tried any of Rimmel's lip liners?
What's your current fave lip combo?

On Saturday I went to my first ever blogger meet up and I had such a fab day! The event was held at Bittersweet in Soho which was such a gorgeous venue and we all spent the whole afternoon mingling and cocktail drinking. We were also treated to a Henna artist, hairdresser, beauty therapist and also had first looks at a brand new skin care company!
Before the meet up I met up with 2 of my faves Jess from prettychitchat and Daisy from daisydaisyxxo, I've spoken to these 2 lovelies plenty of times on Twitter but it was our first time meeting and it honestly felt like I've known them forever! We instantly clicked, had SO much to talk about and have arranged to meet up again which is something I'm very much looking forward to! I also met lots of other beauties who blogs I love so was lovely to chat to them too. If you're ever worried about attending an event you honestly have nothing to worry about as everyone is so nice and welcoming, you'll make friends for life!
One of my favourite parts of the event was being introduced to a brand new skincare and make up company called MooGoo which is being launched in the UK in the next couple of weeks and we were lucky enough to see it first! All of the products are gorgeous, completely natural (so natural it's edible I'll have you know!), extremely affordable and there's even a pet range that smells so good you wish you could use it on yourself! My top picks were the body moisturiser as it leaves your skin feeling like velvet, the blush, natural tinted cream (very much like a BB cream) and the gradual fake tan, I'll definitely be purchasing a few bits and I can't wait to try them out properly!
All of your pooches need this dry shampoo, it smells SO GOOD!
We then had our beautiful Henna tattoos done by designedbyhenna who was so lovely and talented, I want my henna to never fade! I also had a cocktail making session with Kayleigh from veryberrycosmo where we made a French Fancy (or in my words, a glorified Prosecco) and we had such a laugh! She was also the only one I gave out my business cards to as well (oopsie) although I think that was the way for most of us on the day! We also received a goodie bag full of amazing products, as this was already a heavy duty picture post I've decided to do a post on everything we were gifted which will be up later this week so keep your eyes peeled! :)
I'd just like to say a huge thank you to Lauren, Amy and Tamsyn for all your hard work in organising such a fabulous event and I cannot wait for the next one!
