I'm Back!

Well...it's been a while, I can't even remember the last time I logged onto Blogger and boy oh boy have I missed it! First of all let me apologise for my absence here and also on my YouTube channel for the past 2 months. Without going into too much detail my boyfriend and I broke up so I had initially planned on having a short break however this combined with work being beyond hectic and far too many social events there really wasn't enough hours in the day. If I'm being completely honest there were a few moments where I questioned whether or not I wanted to carry on blogging however after attending the Big Blogger Conference (vlog to come!) last month and a couple of heart to hearts with fellow bloggers I realised there is no way I plan on stopping! Within a year and a half I've made some amazing friends some of which I actually think I speak to more than my own family (ha), had some fabulous opportunities and I've also seen myself grow as a person. When I look back to my first ever posts I can see how much I've changed and where I was in different transitions of my life - this is like a diary to me and I can only imagine what the next 18 months has in store for me. I miss the whole blogging community and I just want to say a huge thank you to those of you who have been there for me recently, you guys are beyond supportive! I have SO many posts to write, videos to edit and blogs to catch up on...I finally have my mojo back and I'm SO EXCITED!!!

Revlon Mischievious Review and Swatches
Revlon Mischievious Review and Swatches
Summer is the time of year I reach for bolder and brighter shades and this gorgeous yet completely affordable one is one you'll want to add to your lipstick stash. If any of you went to the blogger meet up in January arranged by the lovely Lauren then you'll most likely have received one of these in your goodie bag, so I'd just like to say a huge thank you to Revlon for being so generous! I normally opt for pinks and nudes so I was really happy that I got the shade Mischievious as it's the perfect Summer coral for your smackers!

Lush Think Pink Bath Bomb Review
If you're after the ultimate girly bath bomb then Lush Think Pink is the one for you. (Pink lovers this is definitely up your street too!) Most of you will know that I'm a huge sucker for pretty products, particular those that are pink, so of course I absolutely love this with it's embedded floral decoration. A blend of Vanilla Absolute, Lavender & Neroli Oil this smells heavenly sweet whilst the Lavender leaves you feeling super relaxed and chilled afterwards. As this is one of the smaller bath bombs from Lush, don't be fooled by its small size as it fizzed around my whole tub leaving a bright pink explosion and cute heart confetti (which was a nice little surprise!) in its wake. This makes your bath water feel like silk leaving your skin feeling beautifully soft and moisturised afterwards with a scent that lingers for a long while. For £2.65 I think this is such a bargain and would highly recommend you all to give this a try!

The Perfect Summer Red | Mac Relentlessly Red

Mac Relentlessly Red Review and Swatch
Mac Relentlessly Red Review and Swatch
Mac Relentlessly Red Review and Swatch
Isn't this just the most beautiful Summer lipstick ever?! If you saw my recent Mac Haul then you'd know that I fell in love with this and picked this up with the Back 2 Mac scheme. If you aren't aware of what the Back 2 Mac scheme is, basically if you return 6 empties you then receive a free lipstick. Amazing right?! Never bin your empty containers ladies! I did originally have my eyes on Ruby Woo but when I saw Relentlessly Red I just knew I had to have it! This is such a gorgeous pinky-red which is almost neon, it just screams Summer, with cool undertones so it makes your teeth look ultra white - bonus! This is such a unique colour and is so flattering for all skin tones. Whether your pale or tan this just looks absolutely gorgeous and really does give that instant wow factor. As with all Mac lipsticks, the pigmentation is on point, one swipe of colour is all you need so you know that this lipstick will last you a long time as you need to apply hardly any. In the photo above I swatched it ONCE! This is a retro matte formula so bare in mind that it is pretty drying so a lip balm is essential. I probably wouldn't be able to wear this every single day (as much as I'd love to!) as it probably is the most drying of my collection and after a few days of wearing this I've found my lips are very, very dry and are in need of some TLC! The lasting power of this is pretty good, I normally tend to find that I need to apply some more around the 4 hour mark. The only grip I have with this lipstick is how it wears away, it just isn't even. Even without eating and drinking it wears away around the majority of your lips leaving you with a nice ring, so this probably isn't the most ideal lipstick if you're going to a restaurant for a first date! But I love this so much, applying it 3 times a day really isn't a problem as it's just so bloomin' gorgeous!

If you're a regular reader of my blog, then you'll know that for everyday I play it safe with pinks and nudes but guess what? I actually wore this lipstick for WORK! That's how much I love this and how confident I feel with it, I have honestly finally found my perfect red!

The Summer Tag

The Summer Tag 2015

Hey beauties! I was recently tagged by the lovely Shae to do this Summer Tag and we all know how much I love a seasonal tag so here goes..!

1. What's your favourite thing about summer?
I love everything about Summer, it's my favourite time of year. I love the extended hours of daylight, beach days, pool parties, flowers in full bloom, family barbecues, floral dresses oh the list is endless!

2. Do you have a favourite summer drink?
I do love a cocktail, especially a Piña Colada which is my ultimate holiday drink!

3. Is there a special place you like to visit each Summer?
I have fond memories of visiting my Nan by the sea and going to our old villa in Spain each year, I don't visit either of these anymore but they hold a special place in my heart <3

4. What's your favourite make up look for Summer?
Anything bright and bold - Summer is the time to experiment and be brave! I love coral or bright pink lips paired with a gold smokey eye and I normally tend to swap my foundation for something lighter like a tinted moisturiser with an added SPF.

5. Dresses or skirts?
Both! I love anything floaty, floral and pastel for the warmer months!

6.Festivals or holidays?
Definitely holidays! I love travelling and learning about different cultures plus who doesn't love some guaranteed Summer sun?! I don't think I'm made for festivals, roughing it in a tent for a few days isn't for me - I'm not high maintenance I promise!

7. What's your signature Summer hairstyle?
I love tasselled beachy waves it's such an effortless look and is so pretty for Summer!

8. What's your signature Summer scent?
Like I've mentioned in previous tags, I don't choose my fragrance depending on what time of year it is as Chloé is my ultimate scent all year round. I'm sure you're all pretty bored with me mentioning this on every tag but I just adore it!

9. Favourite music for Summer?
Anything upbeat which puts you in a good mood although I do love pretty much every kind of music.

10. Pool or beach?
As much as I love going to the beach, I'd rather go to the pool but that's purely because I'm the biggest wimp in the world and I'm scared of the sea!

11. BBQ or seafood?
100% BBQ! Even though I don't eat much off it (fussiest eater in the world right here..) I just don't think you can beat the atmosphere and the smell of a good ole Barbie!

I tag Abby, Aisling, Hayley and anyone else who hasn't done this tag!

Mac Haulin'

Mac Haul, Relentlessly Red, Please Me, Fix+, Pro Longwear Concealer
On Saturday I went shopping and here are the goodies I picked up from Mac!
Mac Relentlessly Red
If any of you saw my Beauty Lust List then you'd know that I originally had my eyes on Ruby Woo but when I swatched it in store I just wasn't brave enough for that shade of red just yet, but fell in love with Relentlessly Red which is such a beautiful, almost neon pinky-red! This is the perfect shade for Summer and a review will be posted very, very soon!
Mac Fix+
Another item on my Lust List was Mac Fix + as this was recommended to me when I had a slight whinge on one of my YouTube videos about an eyeshadow not being as pigmented on the brush as what it did when I swatched it. After reading the reviews this is also amazing at taking away any cakey-ness which is what I've had recently with my everyday foundation so I can't wait to try this out!
Mac Pro Longwear Concealer
The best concealer in life and my holy grail. I have a full review right hereone of my first ever posts so it's an oldie but definitely a goldie! :)
Mac Please Me
Another oldie but a goldie is Mac Please Me. I got one previously as a Secret Santa gift from work and I've used it everyday since, it's the most perfect everyday shade and as it's matte it lasts for absolute ages which is ideal for me with work. As I recently just finished the tube (6 months for everyday is bloomin' amazing don't you think?!) I decided to pick another one up as it's my favourite everyday shade! I've also reviewed this here.
Mac False Lashes Extreme Black
I noticed this cute miniature mascara was added to my bag once I got home and was rummaging through my stuff, how bloomin' cute is it?! I've only tried one mascara from Mac before which I wasn't impressed with but I'm really excited to try this out!

As always I'd love to hear your thoughts, do you use any of this products? What's your Holy Grail item from Mac?

Mac Snob Review

Mac Snob Lipstick Review and Swatch
Mac Snob Lipstick Review and Swatch
Mac Snob Lipstick Review and Swatch
Well this lipstick is a definite throw back as this was one of my first ever Mac purchases! Admittedly I haven't worn this in what seems like forever and a day but I rediscovered this whilst rummaging through my collection so I thought I'd do a little review for you!

The ever so famous Snob is a very girly, pretty pink with cool lavender undertones, a lipstick that Nicki Minaj would adore. Mac describes this as a 'ladylike mauve' although in my opinion I probably wouldn't say this was the most sophisicated shade I have, I wear this when I want something a little different without being too 'out there'. As this is a satin formula it is quite matte but isn't as drying on the lips, it has an almost cream-like texture, and lasts for hours! One or two applications throughout the day is all you need, wearing away nice and evenly so you eventually have a light pink tint to your lips. This isn't the most wearable shade as it looks completely different on everyone, it even looks different on me! If I'm au natural it's a gorgeous soft pink which I love whereas if I've had a tan it looks very purple which I don't particularly like, although I have seen darker skinned girls rock this and it looks absolutely stunning on them! This is so beautiful (when I'm paler) and is a really great transitional shade which looks lovely for both day and night. Like all Mac lipsticks the pigmentation is amazing and is so opaque, the photo above is just ONE swatch, so you need hardly any when applying which is probably why its lasted me such a long time ha!

I wouldn't say this was my favourite lipstick of my collection but it's nice for when I want something a little out of my nudey-pink comfort zone!

Have you tried Mac Snob before? What are your thoughts?

A Mixed Review Of Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter

Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter Review
I feel like I'm one of the few beauty bloggers out there who actually doesn't like Soap and Glory products. There, I said it. Bad beauty blogger award goes to me. I know so many people rave about them but in all honesty I just don't see the hype surrounding the products and I'm yet to find one I like. If you're a huge S&G fan then you may have noticed that the packaging of this product is slightly dated, I received this along with a couple of other miniatures last Christmas and as I've ran out of my trusty ole Elemis Frangipani body oil I thought I'd give this a whirl. I don't love this and I don't hate it. You know you have one of those products where you really can't make up your mind on it yet you just use it anyway? This is definitely one of those.

The smell of this in my (extremely blunt) opinion is horrid. It's so over powering and heavily perfumed, it almost has a plasticky scent to it if that even makes sense?! I'm all about the sweet, floral fragrances but this just takes it to a whole other level. It does fade once it's been on for a while, it's just the first initial smell I can't stand. I love the pink, vintagey little tub this comes in, although I would prefer one slightly more hygienic so you don't have to put your hands in to scrap the product out. (Am I being a bit too OTT with germs here?!) My skin felt nicely moisturised afterwards, particularly my dry elbows, and it was easy to rub in as I tend to find body butters can take slightly longer to apply but this was really quick so that was great. The one thing I did tend to find a few times afterwards though was that it felt like I had a plasticky film left on my skin, it wasn't tacky or greasy it just felt like it needed to be washed off. This wasn't after every application so I'm not sure whether or not I may have been a bit too product happy but still, ones I've used in the past haven't done this if you apply too much so I'm not really too sure what happened there. Once I had a whiff of this I did worry that it would irritate my sensitive skin but it didn't which I was really impressed with! The pricing of all S&G products are amazingly affordable with this travel size costing just £2.50 and the full 300ml costing £10.50. Even though they're cheap (and would make my purse very happy!) you won't be seeing me swapping my Elemis goodies anytime soon.

As you can most probably tell I'm really undecided on this! It does what it says on the tin nicely it's just the scent I cannot bare. Have you tried this product before? What are your thoughts on this? Are there any products from S&G you can recommend to try and covert me?!

A Must Have Foundation | Nars Sheer Glow

Nars Sheer Glow Punjab Review and Swatch
Nars Sheer Glow Punjab Review and Swatch
Nars Sheer Glow Punjab Review and Swatch
Now, I know there are heaps of reviews of this product but I just had to rave about it too as it's my favourite foundation ever! This had been on my wishlist for the longest time so me being tight the Bargain Queen that I am, I treated myself to this when Asos had their black Friday offer (that's how long its taken me to decide whether to review this or not!) so I got it for the amazing price of just £24.80 instead of it being £31.00. After reading review after review I settled on the shade 'Punjab' which is described as 'Medium with golden, peachy undertones' Now I don't know about you but I've always been one to have a high street foundation for everyday and a more high-end foundation for when I'm dolling myself up, tanned and want to feel ultra glam. You're now probably wondering whether or not this foundation is too dark for me and it is on an everyday basis but for nights out it matches my tan perfectly, I like to call this my special occasion foundation!

I love the ultra chic glass bottle it comes in with the Nars logo down the side and like most the only negative I have of this product is that it doesn't come with a pump. There is one you can buy for an extra £3.00 but when you've already splurged you don't really want to part with more money for something that should have come with such a high-end product anyway. The coverage, application and overall finish of this is bloomin' amazing! When you read the name you instantly assume that this is going to be very sheer with a dewy finish which in my opinion is the complete opposite to what is actually is. This is a medium coverage which is definitely buildable to full and it isn't overly dewy nor matte it's just the perfect in-between. I apply this with my Sigma F80 Flat Top Kabuki Brush which blends like a dream leaving you looking flawless and radiant. Of all the times I've used this foundation I've not once looked cakey or like I've got too much foundation on, so even though it is medium coverage it still looks like your skin but very natural and hell of a lot better! It feels like you aren't wearing anything at all and has such a beautiful satin feel to it afterwards. A little goes such a long way with this product too as all you need is a smidge so even though it may seem more on the pricey side it will last you ages. This lasts all day. When I went to Barcelona I was up at 5am, had the oh so lovely air-con flight (which lets face it is never good for your skin or full face of make up!) arrived in the boiling heat, went out exploring, had dinner and it was still on there!!! Even the flight alone I'm surprised and really chuffed at, as L'Oreal True Match literally just slides off your mush no matter how long or short your flight, let alone everything else too! I honestly think this would be amazing for all skin types as it doesn't cling to dry patches nor make you look ultra oily and the range of colours are unbelievable!

As you can most probably tell I love love love this foundation! It's easily become a Holy Grail item and is a staple in my make up bag! As always I'd love to hear your thoughts, have you tried this before? What's your favourite foundation?

Bath Like A Queen | Lush Tisty Tosty Review

Lush Tisty Tosty Review
Lush Tisty Tosty Review
Lush Tisty Tosty Review
Lush Tisty Tosty Review
Lush Tisty Tosty Review
If you've never had rose petals in your bath before then I suggest you pick up Tisty Tosty on your next trip to Lush. If any of you read this post then you'd know that my lovely friend Lydia brought me the Art Of Bathing gift set for my birthday and this little beauty was in it.

First of all I absolutely love the heart design of this bath bomb, I'm a sucker for anything girly and cute so this is right up my street! This would make the perfect gift for Valentines Day or if any men are looking for a nice treat for their lovers, I know I'd be dead chuffed if Matt picked this up for me! *hint hint* A combination of Rose Absolute, Geranium Oil, Jasmine Absolute and Rosebuds this is heaven for any floral lovers and a very romantic scented bath bomb! I wouldn't say this is the strongest smelling one I've had, it was lovely and subtle which is a huge thumbs up from me as I tend to find anything too strong with floral scents can get a little heady. My favourite thing about this bath bomb is the rosebuds, I've always been one to love a bit of novelty in products and this most definitely was that! It fizzed around for a minute or so releasing its beautiful aroma. If you're after one that puts on a display I probably wouldn't say this one was for you as it doesn't change the colour of your water, normally I do love a showstopper but I didn't mind as the rosebuds were what really done it for me (oh it's the little things!) My skin felt lovely and soft afterwards and it didn't irritate my sensitive skin either which I'm so happy and surprised at as I thought it would being so floral, so I'll definitely be picking this up again. The scent lingered for a little while afterwards but not as long as other bath bombs I've tried.

All in all I really loved this bath bomb, even though it didn't put on much of a display I loved its relaxing, uplifting fragrance and if you didn't guess already.. the rosebuds!

Have you tried Tisty Toasty?

The Spring Tag

The Spring Tag 2015 | www.vanityfairest-x.blogspot.co.uk
It's not often that I do tags here on my blog but I do love a seasonal one and as I've seen this one flying round I thought it would be fun to do it!

1. What are three colours that remind you of Spring?
Baby pink, pastel blue and yellow - anything bright and pastelly instantly reminds me of Spring!

2. What is the first thing you added to your Spring wardrobe?
Sandals, floral dresses and maxi skirts - although in this country you can't normally wear these until the Summer or if you're jetting off on holiday!

3. What is the first item of clothing you ditch to make it more Spring like?
Fur coats and winter boots are the first ones to go!

4. What are your ultimate nude and bright lipsticks?
My ultimate nude is definitely YSL No.1 it's such a beautiful pinky-nude (review here) and my favourite brights are L'Oreal Pink Passion and Fashionsta in Ultra Pink. If you're after something bright which turns heads then you need to pick up either of these!

5. What is your signature Spring fragrance?
I don't change my perfume depending on the season, I'm a massive creature of habit, so my signature scent all year round is the original Chloé - which I'm sure you already probably know! Although just recently I have been loving Flowerbomb by V&R and Daisy from Marc Jacobs which I think are the perfect floral scents for SS.

6. What do you add to or drop from your skin care routine?
I change my moisturisers and facial oils from replenishing and hydrating to balancing as my skin isn't as dry in the Spring as what it is in the Winter plus I need something to help combat any shine and oiliness. I also add an SPF 30 before my make up even though my foundation contains an SPF I just like to be careful!

7. Do you change your hair in the Spring?
I prefer more beachy, loose waves. I like the natural 'I woke up like this' hair style - although we won't mention how long it really takes to achieve that will we?!

8. Are there any exciting beauty releases that you are looking forward to?
I'll admit that I've been so slack on keeping up with new releases (bad beauty blogger!) but I'm SO excited for my trip to America in a couple of months where I can finally get my mitts on all the American brands ahhh!

9. What are your top three nail colours for Spring?
I always have gels applied to my hands and feet so there aren't certain colours I always opt for as I think it's nice to have a different colour each time but recently I've been loving anything bright, pastel or nude!

10. Who do you tag?
Now I know I'm probably the last one to do this tag but if you haven't done this tag then I tag you!

If you've done this tag do leave your links below as I would love to read them!

Beauty Lust List

Beauty Wish List
It's been a long ole while since I posted a wish list, August to be exact, so this is waaay over due!

Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Tan
As a self confessed tanaholic and as Summer is well on it's way, of course a new fake tan product would be on my list! I love the one I use but I can't justify splurging £30.00 on just one bottle so for £7.99 this is perfect. The one on my wish list is the One Hour tan which develops in 1-3 hours (the longer you leave it on the darker it is) and once washed off it lasts around 5 days leaving you with a gorgeous golden glow which isn't orange nor streaky which is everything I want in a tan so I can't wait to try pick this up and try it out - my expectations are very high!

Benefit Roller Lash
I feel like I'm the only beauty blogger in the whole blogosphere who didn't get their mitts on Elle magazine when they had the free sample of this a couple of months ago and after reading everyones rave reviews I've caved! I have tried to resist the urge as we all know how much I love my Maybelline mascara but I need to see the hype for myself. Plus being a huge mascara lover it's only right that I try it isn't it?!

Urban Decay Eyeshadow 'Snakebite'
This is one of my favourite eye shadows EVER. Gold and bronze smokey eyes are without a doubt my go-to make up look and as I've hit pan on this shadow on my Naked 2 palette it's swiftly been added to my wish list.

Makeup Revolution Sugar & Spice Blush Palette
The one thing lacking from my make collection is blushers. Everyone has their own 'thing' when it comes to make up (for me it's lipstick, eyeshadow and mascara) but blush is the one thing that I'm just never drawn to whilst shopping. Lots of my favourite bloggers have reviewed this and said how amazing it is so I think it's time I ventured out and brought this beautiful collection. This is only £6.00 for 8 blushes which is a complete bargain!

Girls With Attitude Falsies 'Daydreamer'
I've never been one for false eyelashes but once I received a pair in my goodie bag from the #nyLDNmeet back in January I've been obsessed. The ones I currently have are 'Heart Stopper' (review here) and they are absolutely gorgeous! They're so lightweight, are comfortable to wear, last for absolute hours and look so natural. There isn't any difference in length as mine are very long anyway but I just love the amount of volume and fullness it adds so I really want to try out a few more falsies from GWA as they're bloomin' amazing!

Sigma F40 Large Angled Contour Brush
I saw Lauren Curtis wear army pants and flip flops so I brought army pants and flip flops use this in one of her videos and I need it! The brush I'm currently using to apply my blush is pretty appalling (picture a cactus like brush and you're half way to imaging how bad mine actually is) so I think it's about time I brought a new one! I love Sigma brushes as they're really affordable and are just all round amazing.

Mac Ruby Woo
Of all the gorgeous goodies above, the is the one I want to get my mitts on the most. I've always been afraid of red lipstick but just recently I've become obsessed with the whole Marilyn Monroe look and this seems to be the perfect lipstick. I'm only one item away from the Back To Mac scheme so this will definitely be the one that I'm picking up!

Beauty Blender
Just recently I feel like my concealer is looking a little cakey (which I'm putting down to using a dry make up brush) and I feel like this would be the perfect tool to help combat that. Plus I've been after a beauty blender for the longest time so it's the perfect excuse to buy one.

Mac Fix +
This was recommended to me after I posted my Two Faced Chocolate Bar Palette tutorial where I had a slight whinge about the eyeshadow not looking as pigmented on my eyes as what it did on the swatch. I've seen this used in numerous YouTube videos but didn't know that much about it so after some research this is definitely near the top of my list, how did I go this long without knowing I needed this?! It also adds moisture, takes away any powdery/cakey-ness and settles your make up - perfect for the upcoming hot (hopefully) months!

If you've reviewed any of these gorgeous beauty goodies please do leave them below as I'd love to read them! What items are you currently lusting after?

Two Faced Chocolate Bar Palette Review and Swatches
L-R Amaretto, Hazlenut, Crème Brulee, Haute Chocolate, Cherry Cordial, Champagne Truffle

Can we all just take a moment to admire how beautiful this palette is?! I picked this little beauty up in heaven Sephora whilst I was in Barcelona and I've used it pretty much everyday since (I'm sure those of you who watch my YouTube videos will know this!) I LOVE IT and you need this in your lives!

Let me start with the packaging, it's too cute! Living up to its name, the box it comes in is designed like a chocolate wrapper and the palette is shaped like a chocolate bar. It's a sturdy one with magnetic closure and a little compact mirror which is perfect, especially if you're going travelling as you have an amazing range of colours, you know they'll be no breakage due to the sturdiness and you've got a handy mirror. The smell is absolutely delicious! As the name would suggest, it actually does smell like chocolate so chocolate lovers this one is definitely for you! Oh how I wish I could eat it.. (Although when you're trying to eat healthily using this probably isn't the best idea for sugar cravings haha) There's a plastic film covering the eyeshadows telling you the names which you do have to remove when using which is my only con of this palette as it probably would have been a better idea to engrave them on the actual casing instead, although I do believe on their most recent release they've done this.

There are 16 absolutely gorgeous shadows which are a mixture of matte and shimmer giving you the perfect shades for everyday, a night out or if you're feeling slightly more daring. My favourite and most worn shade is Crème Brulee, (although I do love them all!) it's such a gorgeous gold that's perfect for day and night wear and if you didn't already know I'm slightly obsessed with gold eyeshadow! This palette just keeps getting better and better as the pigmentation is bloomin' amazing one swatch of colour is all you need and I'd even go as far as saying that this is the best eyeshadow formula in my whole collection, as it's so creamy, easy to blend and the lasting power is fab. You can apply this to your peepers in the morning, have a full day at work and even go out for after work drinks and it's still on there! I'd say that pretty brilliant wouldn't you?!

As you can tell I'm beyond obsessed! If you're looking for a mixture of day, night and something a little more adventurous than your standard neutral palette then you must pick this up! For £39.00 this is a slight splurge for me but for 16 eyeshadows, working out at a little over £2.00 each for such a generous amount, I think it's amazing as I know this will last me such a long time and everyone needs a bit of Two Faced in their lives don't they..? ;)
