London Snaps

Hello my lovelies, I hope you're having a fab weekend so far! The other day I was scrolling through my camera and came across these forgotten snaps from my week off back in September of a very touristy day in London and I wanted to share them with you. We walked along the Embankment, Westminster, Trafalgar Square and then went to the Natural History Museum as I'd never been and Matt loves it. It's free entry and you could spend hours there, I'll admit that this initially wouldn't have been my first choice of places to go however it was so interesting and I'd really recommend a visit if you haven't before! All in all it was a very cheap day out and it's nice to do the touristy stuff every now and then isn't it?!
Where's your favourite place to visit while your in London?

Face Oils Are Your Best Friend

ESPA Replenishing Face Treatment Oil Review
If you've got an oily skin type then adding oil to it will only make it more oily right? Wrong!
Many people are hesitant to use an oil on their face and it's mainly down to this assumption. Facial oils are extremely rich in anti-oxidents, vitamins and minerals. By using an oil it penetrates deeply into the skin to repair, restore and revitalise. It also helps balance out the oils so your skin doesn't have to produce anymore.

I won't use any facial oil other than ESPA (I doubt you're surprised!) and I'm currently loving their Replenishing Face Treatment Oil which is perfect to nourish and hydrate during the Winter months. Even though I have combination skin I always find I have tight, dry patches, especially on my cheeks, so using this oil daily works like a dream!
Neroli and Sandalwood Essential oils help revitalise and stimulate cell renewal, while Vitamin E-rich Avocado and Patchouli extracts deeply nourish and soften even dehydrated skin for a smooth, supple finish.
Could you honestly find anything superior to put on your skin?! As you could probably imagine it smells divine too, it's like you're having a spa experience at home! You need the smallest amount and it's an amazing moisturiser and treatment - your skin will thank you for it! I always apply this in the evening as I like my skin to have enough time to absorb all it's goodness, I also apply a generous amount just before I apply a face mask too. Face oils are fabulous for all skin types, which ESPA cater for. There's Balancing Face Treatment Oil which is suitable for oily, combination and congested skin types (I swear by this in the Summer) and Regenerating Face Treatment Oil which is great for maturing skin types.

This is a staple item in my Winter skin care routine and I urge all of you to try this! :)

Do you use a facial oil?
What's your favourite?

My Little Haven

Happy Friday my loves! I hope you're well and you've had a good week. I'm so excited for this weekend I'm off down to London tomorrow (although driving in central London slightly terrifies me) to see one of my besties who I don't get to see that often, so I'm sure there won't be a moments silence as we've got lots of goss to catch up on. We're also going to see the Hunger Games, which I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am to see Gale, phwoarrr!

This week has been pretty naff to be honest and as I got to leave at 3pm today I popped over to a lake near me on the way home from work. It's a bit of a random place to go I guess but I just find it one of the few places I can go if I'm feeling upset, angry or anxious where I can just think. I also got some pretty snaps which I wanted to share with you too!

What are your plans for this weekend?

Two Items You Need From Topshop

Whilst Christmas shopping last week at Lakeside I couldn't resist having a look around Topshop. I'm proud, and quite surprised, that I only picked up these 2 items as they've got so many gorgeous bits in there at the moment! I know these are going to be well loved this Winter so I wanted to share them with you.
Topshop Haul November 2014
Camel Coat - £59.00
Every year I like to buy a new Winter coat and I've always wanted one that is a classic camel colour, so when I saw this I knew I had to get it. This is easily going to be a staple item for me throughout the upcoming months as I've not stopped wearing it since I brought it - I love it! The quality of this coat is fab, as with all Topshop coats, so I know it'll keep me warm during the cold months ahead. I love how much sophistication is added to any outfit when wearing this, it really is beautiful. For £59.00 need I say anymore?! I highly recommend that you add this to your winter wardrobe!
Topshop Haul November 2014
Pom Pom Shoes £28.00
I know these may not be to everyones taste but I love em! I've been on the hunt for a pair of black shoes but I didn't want plain ones, I wanted some with that added bit of wow factor and these fit the bill perfectly. They're great quality, however I'd really advise you to break these in before wearing them for long periods at a time as my ankles were covered in blisters afterwards!
Have you brought anything from Topshop recently?
What items of clothing are you loving at the moment?

Products I'd Take Into The Jungle Tag

Products I'd Take Into The Jungle Tag
Earlier today I saw Alice from anniewritesbeauty do this tag which was created by Beth from missbeautyobsession. I'm so glad I saw this tag as I've discovered Beth's blog which is amazing so I highly recommend you check it out! Although I'm not a I'm A Celeb fan, I must admit I have thought about what my experience would be like in the jungle (lots of screams and tears I've no doubt) and the thought of being able to bring in limited products makes me feel slightly uneasy, so I thought this would be a really fun tag to do!
As a self-confessed beauty addict when I started to think about what items I'd bring, there were so many products that came to mind however I've narrowed it down to what I believe are essentials and would slightly benefit me for weeks of what I'd describe as my idea of hell. The first product to be packed into my case would be Elemis Liquid Layer SPF 30. SPF is a huge necessity when being in the hot Australian jungle, especially considering how pale I am I just have to look at the sun and I'm pink. This also protects your skin from premature aging so I know I wouldn't be leaving the jungle looking like a leather boot. The next item to be grabbed would be Elemis Frangipani Monoi Body Oil, you all know how much I love this. Aside from the fact that it smells delicious, it's a 3 for 1 for your skin, hair and nails and is also the perfect body oil for your skin after the sun due to it's hydrating and moisturising ingredients.
Now I'm very particular on my sleeping arrangements, if I haven't got the right pillow in the right place I can't sleep, so I know that I wouldn't get a wink of sleep sleeping uncomfortably on a hammock so Mac Pro Longwear Concealer would be a life-saver for me to conceal the dark circles and under eye bags I'll be getting. The thought of having barely any eyebrows on telly terrifies me, so Anastasia BH Dipbrow Pomade is a must. Some of you may know that my brows and I had a very love-hate relationship until I discovered this, it's easily a HG item for me so of course this would be coming along for the journey. I'm not sure how beneficial mascara would be for me as I'm pretty sure I'd spend most of the time crying, but for the times that I'm not Maybelline Colossal Mascara would be applied as we all know how much I love my mascara. Finally I'd bring my Korres Lip Butter, as it's super hydrating, moisturising and leaves a subtle hint of colour on your lips!
I loved doing this tag and it's for us all to do so please tag Beth on Twitter when sharing so she can have a snoop at all your jungle essentials!

What would you bring into the jungle with you?

Why Do We Judge Others Based On Appearance?

It's a different kind of post from me today ladies and gents. It's something which I think is very important and I'm pretty sure we all encounter this on a daily basis. Why do we judge others based on appearance? Weren't we all told when we were younger to not judge a book by its cover? We've all had it done to us and we've most likely done it to others too, whether it's intentional, good or bad, it's happened.

When you see someone of course you form somewhat of an opinion on them but the main reason for me writing this post is when people are nasty with it without evening knowing you. People who intentionally go out of their way to make someone feel insecure about themselves. Whether it's a dirty look, whispering/laughing as you walk past or a nasty comment made loud enough so you can hear it. What do people gain for being like this? Do they honestly feel any better about themselves knowing they've made someone else upset?

I could name numerous occasions where this has happened to me, and I'm pretty sure you all could too. One place in particular where I was at a party not too long ago when a man's exact words were 'I thought you were just another stuck up blonde who loved themselves but actually you're very down to earth and alright' Now normally I can quite easily brush off any kind of negative comment, I know that this isn't even that bad if anything it's more of a back-handed compliment, but I'll admit that for some reason it got to me. I'm not entirely sure why it did so much but it's one of the reasons that pushed me to write this post. Is it because I'm blonde, I like to wear make up, I fake tan, the clothes I wear? Why should those who choose to do any of the above be taken any less seriously than someone who doesn't do these things? I do all of the above to try to feel confident in my own skin, not for any other reasons. I would love to be one of those girls who doesn't need to wear make up on a daily basis and are happy with themselves, but unfortunately I'm not and I'm pretty sure that I speak for a big majority of women here too.

I've found myself struggling to find reasons as to why instantly judge and assume one another. Is it because we may have had a horrible encounter with someone who looks/acted in a similar way so we automatically assume they're going to be the same? Is it because we see our own insecurities in that person so we compare ourselves? Jealousy?

We are women and men of all different ages, colours, sizes and experiences so comparisons should be non-existent. We are all beautiful, special and unique in our own way. We all have our own little quirks about ourselves that no one else has, which is beautiful. We've got to stop focusing on what we hate about ourselves and start focusing on what we love and we should look however we want to look without being judged. If we all looked exactly the same life would pretty damn boring would it not? We should admire one another and make each other feel good about ourselves. It's not a competition.

I've always believed no matter what you look like on the outside, it's the inside what matters. Which I think is a good rule to live by. I guess what I'm saying here is get to know someone before you make a stereotypical of them.

I'm not really too sure where I was headed with this post and I'm not tarnishing everyone with the same brush either as I know how lovely you all are. I just wanted to share this with you as it's something I've wanted to post for a few months and I finally feel like now is the right time to do so.

My Top A/W Nail Polishes

One of my favourite things about this time of year is all of the beautiful seasonal colours and shades of make up. I tend to find myself reaching out for much deeper, more daring colours so today I thought I'd share with you my top nail polishes. Most of which are my all time favourite and also a couple I've discovered recently that I love!
Barry M - Copper
I love sparkly nail polishes around Christmas time as I think they're perfect for the festivities. I personally prefer gold/bronze over silver (which looks gorgeous too) mainly because I wear gold jewellery so I want my nails to match. Barry M has an amazing range of glittery polishes to choose from!
Nicole by OPI - That's Putting It Mild
I brought this back in September as I'd been on the hunt for the perfect nude and this is it! I think everyone needs a nude polish in their collection as it's such a classy and classic shade which goes with everything. I rave about this here.
Chanel - Taboo
This has been on my nails constantly since I brought it. I love it. It's such a beautiful indigo/amethyst with glittery sparkles that have a hint of red, bronze and blue to them. It's very vampy which is perfect for A/W. Review here.
China Glaze - Ruby Pumps
Could you get anymore Christmassy?! I'm not normally one for red nails on myself but I love wearing this around Christmas as it's so festive!
IBD - I Mod You
My camera really doesn't pick up deep purple/plummy shades too well, as this is one of those shades which looks purple in certain lighting and red in others. It's beautiful. This is very similar to a gel polish I had on my nails all A/W last year so I love that I have a matching polish which can be applied at home.

What's your favourite nail polish for A/W?

Cosy Primark Haul

I love Primark, especially at this time of year. It's snuggly pyjamas and cosy knits galore! They currently have loads of comfy clothes, perfect for the cold nights, so I have a slight theme going on here. I was in Norwich Sunday and Lakeside Monday so below are a mix of items from both shops, I did see most of them in both so I'm sure your closest Primark will stock the same.
Primark Haul November 2014
Gingerbread Man Leggings £10.00
How cute are these?! I couldn't not pick them up! These remind me of the gorgeous gingerbread man red jumper from Topshop last year that was SO hard to get your hands on, if I had it you know I'd definitely be rocking that little ensemble ;) I've decided that these will most likely be worn around the house, however if you'd wear these out you'll be very warm as they're so thick and cosy!
Primark Haul November 2014
Owl Onesie £8.00
So you know I have an obsession with owls... And I do love oneises...
I love Primark onesies as there's a fab range of designs to choose from plus they're so soft, this honestly is the softest onesie I've ever felt! For £8.00 - how bargainous.
Primark Haul November 2014
Bambi PJs £10.00
I'm not a lover of Bambi, it's one of the few Disney films I dislike, but I thought these were too cute not to purchase! How lovely would these look opening presents on Christmas morning? I like the pyjama bottoms much more than I do the top but I always tend to find that with matching PJ sets. They're a fleece-like material which keeps you super warm so for the first time ever in PJ history a dressing gown isn't essential. One thing I must say though is that I brought these on Sunday and by Wednesday they already had a hole in the underarm. Nothing a bit of a needle and thread can't fix but I always find that with at least one item I buy from Primark.
Primark Haul November 2014
Cable Knit Jumper £12.00
I've been looking for a cable knit jumper like this for a while but could never find this colour, it always seems to be slightly on the yellow side. It's not too soft nor rough and scratchy more of a happy medium texture. I can see I'll be getting a lot of wear out of this jumper already.
Primark Haul November 2014Slippers £6.00
Can we all just take a moment to appreciate my Grinch-like slippers?! I think these are hilarious so brought them mainly for the novelty. Laughs aside they're padded so are snug and warm, the bells are slightly annoying which terrifies Patch so I may have to remove these somehow..
Primark Haul November 2014
Owl Thermal Mug £2.00
I didn't actually realise how much Owl stuff I had picked up until I got to the till, I don't think this is healthy. The thermal mug is perfect for the Winter months, I did have one of these before but it's gone walkies. They're ideal for long car journeys or if you're like me and are running around in a rush every morning to take on the go with you.
Owl Blanket £4.50
I LOVE this throw. It's the same material as the onesie and Bambi pyjamas and I thought for £4.50 how could I not? (I always justify buying stuff like this, I'll be skint soon!)
Bambi Socks £3.00
At lakeside the selection of socks wasn't too great so as I brought the pyjamas I thought I may as well get these too!
I also brought some cotton wool discs, a fake tan mitt and a couple of tops to slouch around the house in as casual clothes are something I lack!
Have you brought anything from Primark recently?

My Go-To Evening Make Up

Hey beautifuls, I hope you're having a fab week so far! Last weekend I went to Norwich to celebrate my best friend Lydia's Birthday. I've been to Norwich a number of times for shopping but never for a night out, I'd definitely recommend, we had a great night! Nothing beats a night out with your nearest and dearest does it? As we were getting ready I realised that I've not done an evening make up look here on my blog, I've done an everyday look but not one for an evening. When I go out I like to make my eyes the main focus with lots of mascara and a smoked out, gold/bronze eyeshadow. I apologise that the picture quality isn't the greatest and I couldn't get one of my eyes due to the lighting but you honestly have no idea how hard it was to try and find decent lighting in our hotel room (damn you dark nights!) But there'll be a post of my peepers soon I promise!
♥ Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer to conceal any redness around my nose
♥ L'Oreal Lumi Magique primer mixed with MAC Studio Sculpt foundation in NC35
♥ MAC Pro Longwear concealer to conceal my under eye area, prime my eyelids, highlight my forehead and down the bridge of my nose
♥ MAC MSF in Light, I only applied this along my t-zone as I was aiming for a dewy look this evening whereas on a daily basis I'd use this to set my under eye area
♥ Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in blonde
♥ Bobbi Brown bronzing powder in Golden Light to contour my nose, temples and sculpt out my cheekbones
♥ Chanel Jouse Contraste powder blush in Accent
♥ The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer to highlight my cheekbones, bridge of my nose, tear duct and brow bone
♥ Makeup Revolution 'Smudge' in crease
♥ Makeup Revolution 'Gold Digger' all over my eyelid
♥ Urban Decay Naked 2 'Snakebite' in my outer V and smoked out
♥ Urban Decay Naked 2 'Blackout' applied very thinly and lightly along my upper lash line
♥ Boots eyelash curlers. A little trick I do here to make your eyelashes look 10xs longer is I curl my lashes, apply mascara, leave to dry and curl again very lightly. Do be careful though as you can pull out your own lashes (yes I've done it on more than one occasion and it kills!)
♥ Maybelline Colossal Volum' Express mascara on upper eyelashes
♥ L'Oreal Telescopic mascara on bottom lashes
♥ Maybelline Line Refine kohl liner in white
♥ Babor maxi definition lip liner in the shade nude
♥ YSL Rouge Volupté Opera Rose
♥ NYX Xtreme Shine Lip Cream XLC10
There's my go-to evening make up! I do change my eyeshadow colours every now and then but 99.9% of the time I keep everything else the same :)
Do you use any of these beauty goodies?
What's your go-to evening make up?

A Disappointing Mac Lipstick

Mac Sheen Supreme Lipstick Behave Yourself
Mac Sheen Supreme Lipstick Behave Yourself
Mac Sheen Supreme Lipstick Behave Yourself
Mac Sheen Supreme Lipstick Behave Yourself
Last weekend I had a huge clear out, oh how exciting my weekends are, where I rediscovered this Mac Sheen Supreme lipstick in the shade Behave Yourself. I brought this at the duty free last year and totally forgot I had this. I love when you're having a bit of a tidy up you come across something you've completely forgot about, misplaced or even better money. (Although there wasn't any money found this time *sad face*)

Now I normally love everything Mac related, apart from their mascaras, but this is going to have to join their mascaras I'm afraid and here's why. In the bullet it's a beautiful candy pink which is ultra girly and very much a 'me shade' however when this is applied to your lips it's so sheer you'd be surprised that this is the same lipstick. It's a frost finish, which isn't my favourite, and I've also found that quite a glittery sparkle is left that tends to sit in the cracks of your lips, so you could imagine this applied to chapped lips in the Winter looks a treat.

I won't let this go to waste though as the Sheen Supreme collection is a combination of a lipstick and a lipglass, so I've been applying this over Mac's Snob for a slightly more pinker and glossier effect. As I've mentioned in previous blog posts I'm not a fan of lip gloss but I do like the overall texture of this as it feels very moisturising, isn't sticky and lasts quite a while.

If you like sheer lipsticks then this may be one for you but it isn't my cup of tea. I won't be repurchasing and I doubt I'll buy another Sheen Supreme lipstick.
Have you tried any of the Sheen Supreme collection?

#CosmopolitanChic | The Best Attire To Wear In Las Vegas

Ever since I watched 'The Hangover' I knew I HAD to visit Sin City. The glitz, the glam, the big flashing lights, the nightlife - everything about it fascinates me. I'll finally be visiting here next September for Matt's 30th along with my best friend and her boyfriend, TOO excited! Whilst browsing hotels I came across Cosmopolitan Las Vegas and was instantly attracted to how glamorous, luxurious and modern it was. The location is perfect, right in the middle of the strip, with an incredible view of the Bellagio fountains. For a hotel so fabulous, I'll admit that I was dreading looking at the price however I was pleasantly surprised that it was UNDER budget! As if it couldn't get any better?! An amazing hotel for a reasonable price? Yes please!

When the lovely guys over at asked me to participate in their #CosmopolitanChic blogger challenge it was uncanny as I was just looking at their hotel a few days beforehand so I jumped at the chance. The aim of the challenge is to show how you'd spend a day at the Cosmopolitan and what head turning outfits you'd choose to wear, so I've chosen what I'd wear for my visit in September. Below are my outfits, I hope you enjoy!
After the 5,000 mile flight the first thing I want to do is relax (and people watch) by the pool. I'll be in my element here as this beauty has 3 to choose from. The Boulevard Pool which is located 4 stories above ground with a fantastic view of the strip. The Bamboo Pool which is the place to relax and unwind. And last but not least Marque Dayclub which seems like the party pool with a much more relaxed atmosphere - definitely my cup of tea once I've over come the jetlag. I've decided to keep my swim wear chic and classic so I opted for a monochrome theme. I love Traingl bikinis so this paired with a big floppy hat, a pair of ray bans, red lips and red nails is how I'd style by outfit for time spent by the pool.
What I'm looking forward to most while I visit America - SHOPPING! But shopping on an empty stomach is never a good idea so I've picked an outfit which is perfect for brunch at either Va Bene Caffè or Wicked Spoon Buffet. I couldn't decide between both as they both look and sound amazing (it's not me being greedy, honest!) Once you've ate until you're in a food coma it's onto shopping, where there's a 36,000-square-foot shopping area. Yes you've read it right - 36,000 square-foot! For this I've picked a fashionable yet comfortable outfit for both occasions with tailored shorts, a cami and some wedges which are my go-to pair of shoes. I find wedges very comfy so these will be perfect for me to spend the day shopping knowing that my feet will be ok to wear huge heels in the evening.
You knew I wouldn't visit Las Vegas without bringing a sparkly dress didn't you! For the evening I'd start by having dinner at the Scarpetta which is my favourite of all cuisines, Italian.  From there we'd venture onto the Casino, where I'd attempted to win some money but knowing me end up loosing it all, but when in Vegas visiting the casino at least once is a must right? From there we'd have a few drinks at The Chandelier which a stunning 3 floor bar which is a living, breathing chandelier. It's breath-taking, have a look at their website to have a look. We'd then dance into the early hours of the morning at the Marquee nightclub. I've chosen a very glamorous outfit for this occasion. I'd style my hair with big Hollywood curls but will keep the accessories minimal with a nice watch and stud earrings as I didn't want it to look too OTT as I think the dress speaks for itself.
There's my day spent at Cosmopolitan Las Vegas! I'm so excited to visit, are there any other activities you'd recommend to do whilst I'm there? What outfit did you like best?

The Perfect Red Lip For Blondes

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Grand Cru
Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Grand Cru
Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Grand Cru
Red is the one colour of lipstick that I shy away from. I find that having blonde hair it's difficult to find that 'perfect red' and have always envied brunettes for being able to pull it off. Someone once told me that anyone can, you just need to find the right shade for you. At long last I've found it, and any fellow blondes out there who have the same problem then this may be your new best friend.
I recently discovered Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet, which I'm pretty sure you've all heard of. This range is all about statement lip colours with 5 other jaw-droppingly gorgeous shades that I'm certain will be added to my forever growing make up collection very soon. I brought the shade Grand Cru which is a beautiful dark red, totally out of my comfort zone, that is timeless, classic and the perfect for the Winter months ahead.
This is a doe foot applicator which is applied like a gloss but then dries to a gorgeous matte shade and finish. As soon as you say matte you instantly think of a drying texture, however this definitely isn't the case with these lipsticks as they live up to their name and actually do feel like velvet. I've mentioned in previous blog posts of mine how lipsticks have felt velvety but I've not felt anything like this before. This is the crème de la crème of velvet lipsticks. This is so opaque and pigmented, you could easily get away with one light application where your lips are fully even with colour. Sometimes I'll apply this lightly to achieve a lip stain finish whereas if I want a much more intense colour I'll go over it once more. Both look stunning and I have to say that I much prefer the second application on myself when I'm paler. I would highly recommend using a lip liner with this shade as I found it hard to get a perfect, crisp line as it's such a dark colour. It lasts for ages too, easily 8 hours, and it doesn't transfer onto glasses either which is always a winner. This is without a doubt a HG item for me, I can't believe I've finally found my very own red!
For £8.99 this is a total steal as I'd definitely pay double for this. You can buy it HERE from Superdrug, they currently have their 3 for 2 offer on so grab yourself a bargain!
Have you tried any of Bourjois Rough Edition lipsticks?
What's your favourite red?
