Your Winter Nails Need This Polish

Chanel Taboo Nail Polish Review

Chanel Taboo Nail Polish Review
Happy Halloween! So today it's Friday, it's pay day and it's also Halloween could it get any better?! It's about to as I'm going to be sharing with you my new favourite nail polish which I know you'll be rushing out to buy tomorrow. I didn't own any Chanel nail polishes up until a few weeks ago where I done a double whammy and treated myself to two in one go #feelingspendy

My new obsession is Chanel Taboo. How gorgeous is it? As soon as I saw this I couldn't escape the mystical allure and knew I just had to have it. Before I start writing about the shade, formula and staying power I just have to say that this doesn't have that awful, overpowering smell like most nail polishes. As lovely as it is to have your nails painted, having your whole house smell after isn't always ideal so I'm so glad that this is in the minority of half decent fragranced nail polishes. Now onto the best bit, the colour. It's such a beautiful indigo/amethyst with glittery sparkles that have a hint of red, bronze and blue to them. I must say that there is a slight difference in the shade when you compare the bottle to when it's applied on your nails but it's still beautiful none the less.

The pigmentation is amazing, you could even get away with applying just one coat which for such a dark, vampy shade is very rare. I couldn't fault the formula, as I'm always using nail polishes daily at work this is something I always have a little whinge about it, it's not too thick nor thin and it dries super quick. The durability is fantastic as I've had this on my nails for 5 days now and it's not chipped at all. This looks beautiful on my dressing table as like all packaging of Chanel cosmetics it's chic and classy so I'll just finish right here as we all know how much I love it. (Previous Chanel posts here & here)

This is easily a staple item for me and I know it's going to be on my nails for the rest of the colder months! I couldn't find this online but I brought this from Harrods for £18.00.

Have you tried any of Chanel nail polishes?
What's your staple colour throughout A/W?

The Autumn Tag 2014

The Autumn Tag 2014
This ever so popular Autumn Tag has been flying around the blogging world lately and even though I don't often do tag's I love Autumn so I thought this would be a fun post to do!

1. Ok we're talking coffee's - what's your favourite seasonal drink from Starbucks/Costa/Cafe Nero etc?
Oh how I fail at this question! I suppose this is where I should say a festive drink from Starbucks right? I'm not a lover of coffee, I love the smell but that's as far as it goes for me. My perfect A/W drink is a hot chocolate with lashings of whipped cream and lots of marshmallows - yum!

2. Accessories - what do you opt for scarf, boots, gloves?
The first time I put a pair of boots on after Summer is when I know Christmas isn't too far away. Chelsea boots are my currently my favourite style, I brought a beautiful pair in the River Island sale last Christmas so I'll definitely be wearing these again and knowing me a couple more will be purchased! I only wear a chunky, woolly scarf when it's really cold (like when I visit Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park it's unreal how cold it is!) I do love a statement scarf though to add that little bit extra to an outfit and I also have my eyes peeled for a nice pair of gloves this year.

3. Music - what's your favourite music to listen to during Autumn?
I can't say my music tastes change depending on the Season other than at Christmas time really.

4. Perfume - what's your favourite scent for this time of year?
My favourite scent ever is Chloé, I wear it all year round and it's my signature scent. It's such an elegant floral fragrance which lasts all day long. I honestly should have shares in the stuff as so many people I know have brought it after getting a whiff of me!

5. Candles - what scents will you be burning this season?
I love Yankee candles and my favourite two for this time of year are Fireside Treats and Christmas Cookie.

6. What do you love most about Autumn?
The beautifully coloured leaves, the orange hue at sunset, the darker evenings where I have the most amazing Lush bubble bath and then snuggle down in my onesie without feeling like I should be doing something else. A roaring open fire where we occasionally toast marshmallows, candles, the crisp air, chunky knits, warm comfort food, not having to worry about tanned legs (a big part of my S/S beauty regime) as these pins are now hidden for the next few months - oh the list goes on and on!

7. Favourite makeup look?
Berry lips. I officially know it's Autumn when Kate Moss 107 makes an appearance in my make up bag. I pair this with a lighter foundation shade as I lay off the fake tan (slightly) during the colder months, with copper/bronze/gold statement eyes with an autumnal blush.

8. What are you looking forward to most in Autumn?
Halloween, Bonfire night, Christmas markets and of course the build up to Christmas!

Have you done the Autumn Tag? If you have do leave your links below as I'd love to read your answers, if you haven't then I TAG YOU!

The Perfect A/W Blush

I've been on the hunt for an A/W appropriate blush as my small collection consists mainly of corals and girly pinks, which are perfect for the summery months but not something I ideally want to wear on my cheeks when it's colder. When I saw this I knew I had to have it as it was exactly the shade I was looking for. It was perfect.

It's an unusual shade and I'm pretty sure this wouldn't be the first shade most people would instantly reach for, I know I wouldn't have a couple of months ago, which is why I like it so much. It is a deep, rosy beige with both warm and cool tones mixed together with a beautiful shimmer finish. At certain angles and lighting you can clearly see it's a dusty rose whilst at others it's very beige. In the photo above on me (wearing bronzer and highlighter) you can see the mauve rose tones whilst when swatched on my arm it looks very brown and could almost pass for a shimmery bronzer. I do find this very odd and quite misleading that this looks so different on the same person, just different areas of their body as if you swatched this in store on your hand it could look totally different when on your face. I'm glad that it doesn't look like what it does on my arm when wearing as a blush as I like the rosy beige colour pay off. With that being said I do think this is a very wearable shade for most skin tones, however if you're very dark skinned this may not show up on you very well.

Like my Chanel eye shadow (HERE) it is silky smooth and very velvety so it applies beautifully and blends easy and effortlessly. I apply this with a light hand as you really do not need much on your brush at all as the pigmentation is superb, so although it may seems slightly pricey to start with it will last you an extremely long time. I also personally think that using a light hand during application looks much more sophisticated and natural giving you a slight flush of colour. I find that using this alongside a bronzer to contour with and a highlighter it doesn't look like your cheeks are overloaded with product and defines them beautifully. As if this couldn't get any better, it smells divine! When I first started using this I thought to myself 'what is that smell?!' as I left it open on the side and searched my room to find out what it was as I loved it, then I realised it was this little beauty. Once applied you can't smell it on your cheeks so those of you who are aren't fans of heavily scented make up products don't be put off as you can smell it in the pan but not on you.

I'm so happy that I've found my go-to Autumn/Winter blush if I've persuaded you to have a little splurge then you can buy it HERE from Boots for £31.00 with free delivery to your nearest Boots oh yeah!

Happy Hump Day lovelies! If any of you follow me on Instagram then you'd have seen that a couple of weeks ago my best friend Lydia brought me this lovely little gift back from her travels as she knew it was on my wish list. (HERE) The best friend ever right?! Many love it and many loathe it, but I for one am a lover of the slightly highlighted under eye area, and I wanted a powder to set my concealer instead of it eventually blending into the rest of my make up. We were out for dinner when Lydia gave this to me and as soon as I got home I tried it straight away (don't we all?!) I loved it and have used it every day since!

"A luxurious domed face powder with minerals, slowly baked to provide a dimensional yet natural-matte finish."

It does exactly that! This sets my concealer, and other areas of my face if I feel needs be, without adding lots of additional coverage as it is very light and sheer. This is amazing as you don't get that powdery cake face you can sometimes tend to find with other powders (yum!) This powder is so finely milled that it's perfect for your under eye area as it doesn't cause any creasing, we all know how much I despise this when it comes to concealers, so it does exactly what I wanted it to do. Although it says matte in the description I have personally found that it gives a beautiful, satin finish which doesn't look chalky, doesn't sit in your pores and doesn't make your skin look dull.

I use this when I'm natural (NC15/20) and also when I'm fake tanned (NC30) and it compliments both shades beautifully. When I'm natural/pale it's really nice for an all over face powder as the finish is gorgeous and it also ever so slightly highlights my under eye area too, not much but you can faintly notice it. You can obviously notice the highlight more when I have fake tanned which I think looks great for a special occasion or a night out.

The packaging is sleek and chic, like all of Mac's other products. It has a convenient compact mirror which is perfect for on-the-go touch ups throughout the day, with magnetic closure. This is always a bonus for me as my cack-handed fingers find it much easier to open.

You can buy it HERE from Mac for £23.00. Although it may seem on the pricier side for a powder, you get so much product and need such a small amount that I know it will last me a very long time. As I've mentioned in the past, I've never been one to get excited over face powders and only starting using one daily a few months ago and I can honestly say this has made it onto my (huge) HG list!

NYX Xtreme Shine Lip Cream Natural XLC10

NYX Xtreme Shine Lip Cream Natural XLC10
Hey beautifuls, I hope you've had a fab weekend. I'm feeling slightly under the weather today, ahem hungover, so I've spend the majority of the day in my jimmies blogging which is how Sundays should be spent! Not too long ago I visited Olympia Beauty Show (blog post HERE) where I picked up some NYX products which is a brand I've wanted to add to my collection for some time now. It's so hard to get your hands on NYX products in the UK which is annoying as when I've read reviews/watched YouTube videos all of their products look great! I brought Xtreme Shine Lip Cream Natural XLC 10 and I've been obsessed with it ever since.

This is a hybrid of lipstick, lip gloss and lip stain all in one - the best of all 3 worlds! It's such a beautiful light pink/beige nude colour which looks lovely on its own as well as to also tone down a lipstick. As you can see it's quite a light shade and I have to admit that I much prefer this on me when I'm pale as opposed to when I've fake tanned. It still looks nice, don't get me wrong, but I think this is definitely more suited to a pale skin tone as I think it could look too light on someone who is darker than me.

I like the sleek appearance of this tube and it contains soooo much product. The applicator of this is freaking amazing too. It's longer and flatter than your standard gloss applicator which helps you achieve a crisp edge around your lip line wonderfully easy. The only gripe I have with this is that there can be too much product on the brush so I've currently got a lot of product around the top from where I've been swiping it off before I apply.

This applies like a dream, it feels so soft and creamy which is surprising coming from me as I normally cannot bear the texture of lip gloss on my lips as I find the sticky-ness can sometimes feel slightly cringey. It is so opaque and pigmented so a little goes along way which is great for the cheap price of £5.50. The staying power is amazing, 2-3 hours after application is when I reapply which is unheard of for a nude shade. The texture is slightly thick but not tacky or sticky unlike other lip glosses I've come across, so thankfully I haven't had the whole 'long hair sticking to my lips in the wind' scenario. I've found that when I apply this I need a mirror in hand as it requires precision but afterwards your smackers look fabulous so it is worth taking that little bit longer. After 5 minutes or so these slowly dry so it doesn't slide over your lips and teeth which is always a winner, it lasts a lengthy amount of time and is slightly matte with a hint of gloss (if that makes any sense?!)

If you can't already tell by my rave review, I looove this lip cream! High quality, cruelty-free and affordable, I can't wait to buy more.

Have you tried products from NYX?

Bliss Haul

Bliss Haul, Vanilla & Bergamot Body Butter, High Intensity Hand Cream, Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing Eye Mask
Hey there! This is a review I've been meaning to do for a very long time (8 months to be exact, oops) It's no secret that I'm a huge Elemis junkie so when it was my Birthday back in February one of my good friends brought me these 3 goodies from their sister company Bliss. She brought me Vanilla & Bergamot Body Butter, High Intensity Hand Cream and Triple Oxygen Eye Masks. I've heard that Bliss is more aimed at teens-early 20s, a real fun and girly brand which are perfect for pamper evenings at sleepovers but are still as amazing and luxurious as Elemis. Admittedly I probably never would have picked these up myself but I'm so glad I have these as I have been missing out!
Bliss Vanilla & Bergamot Body Butter Review
For me, if a product doesn't smell nice no matter how good it can be I won't buy/use it. Thankfully this smells delicious. The scent is very much like real vanilla not the cheap, fake smell you often tend to find with products that have a vanilla fragrance. Not only does this smell scrummy but it also does exactly what it says on the label, it provides maximum moisture. This hydrates my skin amazingly well, especially any dry areas such as my elbows and knees, I don't think they've ever felt this baby soft! This is very creamy so  a little goes a long way and is absorbed easily leaving a lingering scent on your skin for hours after. The Tiffany Blue packaging isn't my cup of tea but I guess younger girls may be drawn to this. I like that this in a tube as it's more sanitary and easier to use than a tub.
Bliss High Intensity Hand Cream Review
Don't you hate those hand creams where they feel greasy and sticky leaving fingerprints in your wake? This is one of the few hand creams I've found that doesn't woop woop! I use a pea-sized amount which covers both hands entirely and even though it's a cream it has a light, smooth texture and is absorbed completely within minutes leaving my hands feeling soft and hydrated. I almost feel like my hands have a slight coating on them so they're protected but are dry to touch if that makes sense?! I tend to go through stages where I'll neglect my hands and then I'll make a massive effort to use a hand cream a few times throughout the day, bad I know, since using this my hands don't feel dry, sore or tight and my nails are growing too so after these fabulous benefits I've definitely been converted into a hand cream lover. I'm not overly fussed on the scent but thankfully once it's been absorbed you can no longer smell it. It's the perfect handbag size and even though it's small you get a good amount of product which will easily last you a few months.
Bliss Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing Eye Mask Review

Bliss Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing Eye Mask Review

Bliss Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing Eye Mask Review
I loveee these! Whenever I'm having a good ole pamper evening I use these and apply cucumber on top, don't lie I know you do it too ;) I put these in the fridge about 30 minutes before I use them so they're ultra cool which feels so lovely and refreshing. I'd say that this is more of a short-term fix as I use these for when I'm invited to a big event and want bright, de-puffed, glowing eyes. How cute is the 'you look spa-vellous' on the box, of course I had to take a snap. The only downside to this product is the packaging as you have to press and pop the fluid into the eye pads which is a very fiddly process.
Shop the goodies -
These product aren't cheap however they are really luxurious and are great for a pamper evening! I know I'll certainly be buying the body cream once I run out.
Have you ever tried any of Bliss's range?

Style Icon Mollie King

(All images Google/Instagram)

If I could raid anyone's wardrobe, it would be Mollie King from The Saturdays. She is the ultimate Queen of fashion. She has a sophisticated, tailored style which is very classy yet still manages to keep it feminine. I'm obsessed with the 60's style, you know the Twiggy look, so I love wearing cigarette trousers, shirts/blouses, tailored shorts, pretty dresses and skirts without showing off too much skin so I always find myself looking to Mollie for fashion inspiration. Her hair, clothes and make up are perfect every time and even on her 'dress down' days she still looks amazing. Looks and material possessions aside she seems so genuine and grounded on interviews, can sing, used to ski for Great Britain and also has a clothing line with Oasis! For me personally I'd love my children (If I ever have any) to idolize and look up to strong, independent women like Mollie, Victoria Beckham and Amal Clooney instead of the likes of Katie Price and 'stars' who are paid to get paralytic and have sex on reality shows.

Gifts & Pieces Wishlist

Gift and Pieces Wishlist
Hey lovelies. A couple weeks ago Matt's family went away on holiday for 2 weeks so that meant that I moved in with him, I know make or break huh?! It actually went really well, although I did notice that Matt's slightly anal about certain things and Matt says I'm lazy but I'd definitely say laid-back ;) Anyway it's got me thinking that I'd really like to move out with him, BIG STEP. I've always wanted a shabby chic style in my house rather than modern and contemporary so I was having a browse online and came across Gift & Pieces and fell in love with their gorgeous array of home decorations. I also thought this would be a good post for those of you who have/are looking to move out and like the Shabby Chic style too. Here are some of my favourites that I know I'd have in my house for sure.

How gorgeous is this?! I'm always drawn to anything with the quote 'All You Need Is Love' as it's one of my favourite life quotes. You could store this full of anything you desire as it's a storage box but I'd most probably have this on show for decoration as I love it.

How beautiful would this look on your dressing table? A place to show off all of your delicate jewellery. Paris is one of my favourite cities so when I saw this it only seemed right that I'd add it to my wishlist.

Anyone who knows me knows that I love anything to do with owls. And as I'm obsessed with candles and wax burners this is the perfect combo for me. They also do this in pastel blue and lilac which is really cute and pretty too.

Sometimes we can get caught up in life and focus to a large extent on the negative things, so I personally find that hanging decorations with inspirational quotes can really help lift your mood as Life really is Beauty Full.

I love the frosted heart design with 'Love' embellished in the middle on this glass bottle, I think that little extras like this can transform something plain into something special. As random as this sounds, if I could get one the same but in a smaller size I think this would look really nice in a bathroom. I saw this in my friends nans bathroom the other day and thought it looked really nice!

Aw this is just too cute. I need it.

I've always said that in my house there'll be no mugs, just teacups and saucers. (Obviously there will be as nothing beats a humungous mug of tea) I just really love the idea of a tea party theme when people come over. This also comes in the colour Champagne, Lavender and Blush Pink which are all gorgeous. Gifts and Pieces have so many teacups and mugs which are beautiful, but I only added this one as this would have easily turned into a 'Gift & Pieces Mug Wishlist' haha!

This is something you'd expect to see in a French Chateau. The shape, label, rope and little key is very ooh la la!

I love seeing this sort of thing in peoples kitchen, even though I wouldn't fill them with anything I think they add a homely feel.
Glass Heart Trinket | £5.20
When I was younger I remember my Nan having a trinket exactly the same as this full to the brim of jewellery, so I brought it as it reminds me of her. I plan on having this on my dressing table and I'll most likely keep it empty, although that's very likely to change!

Hi darlings. If any of you follow me on Instagram then you'll know that I was feeling spendy the other day and treated myself to some Chanel make up. I brought an eye shadow, a blush and 3 nail polishes. Reviews to come :)

I'll start with the first thing we lay our eyes on, the packaging. All packaging of Chanel cosmetics is absolutely beautiful. The sophisticated glossy black compact is so chic and classic with their trademark white Chanel logo engraved in the centre. You know this is a very luxurious brand and product as your compact is held in a little velvet case, which I think is a lovely added touch! This is easily the classiest, most beautiful packaging of a make up product that I own and I will be whipping this out of my bag to touch up lipstick for the sake of it purely to show it off. Just saying..

I opted for the shade 94 Éclairé which is a beautiful yellow gold with a hint of glimmer. You'd expect the pigmentation of this to not be that opaque as it's a very common thing among lighter eye shadows, but that doesn't apply here. This is so pigmented and rich in colour that only one swatch with your make up brush is enough per eyelid. The formula is luxurious, it's silky smooth and ultra-finely milled which makes your blending game a hell of a lot easier. The finish is beautiful, there's nothing you could compare it to and the staying power is fantastic. A busy day at work and it's still on your eyes after an 8 hour shift. This is great for everyday as you can wear it alone which makes your eyes appear bigger and fresher but you can also layer additional eye shadows on top for a really glam look. I wouldn't normally use the little eye shadow brush that comes with it as lets face it most of them never serve their purpose well, but this is so good at picking up and packing on the product. The embedded logo of the two C's in the centre is again another lovely added touch, although I am a little apprehensive to directly swipe my brush over it as I don't want to ruin it. (Ha, saddo)

At £23.00 for just one eye shadow this is by no means cheap, however you need hardly any product during application and is a true luxury. Someone once said to me 'You just know when you're wearing Chanel make up' it's true. The next item I plan on getting from Chanel is a lipstick.

Have you tried any of Chanel's make up?
What lipstick would you recommend to get?

Huge Lush Christmas Haul

Huge Lush Christmas Haul 2014
Good evening! I hope you've had a fab day, well as good as a day can get on a Monday. If there's one thing I've really looked forward to lately, it's the release of Lush's Christmas collection (as I'm sure you're well aware) It's shameful to admit that I could never see the big deal surrounding Lush, however I've really gotten into their products lately and have definitely changed my opinion on them so the only product I've used from their Christmas collection is Snow Fairy. It's quite exciting that I get to try all of these for the first time ever!
Huge Lush Christmas Haul 2014
Golden Wonder Bath Bomb | £3.75
I'm excited to try all of the goodies I brought but I'm most excited about this pretty little parcel shaped one. There's 3 things I want from a bath bomb - a lovely fragrance, a pretty fizzing effect and a wonderfully coloured bath tub afterwards. I've heard this does all 3. Golden Wonder is bursting with sweet orange and lime oil, so is definitely one for the citrus lovers. I much prefer a product that has a citrusy/sherberty fragrance to it rather than the spicey, traditional festive scents. It's the biggest bath bomb I've ever brought from Lush too, it's huge! I can't wait to use this.
Huge Lush Christmas Haul 2014
Melting Snowman Bath Melt | £2.25
How cute is this little chap?! I love bath melts as they make your skin feel silky soft afterward with a gorgeous fragrance that lingers, so I already had high hopes for this little guy. This is described as a 'hot toddy' for the tub, it's warm, pleasant and inviting. Packed with almond oil and cocoa butter the Melting Snowman is bursting with scents of cinnamon, cloves, sweet orange and patchouli. Sounds delicious doesn't it? Knowing me, I'll probably try to put off using this as long as I can as it's sooo cute!Huge Lush Christmas Haul 2014
The Christmas Penguin Bubble Bar | £3.25
Again, how adorable?! A delightful blend of orange flower absolute, bergamot (one of my favourite scents ever) and Sicilian mandarin and lemon oils - this too, like Golden Wonder, is something that the citrus lovers will want to get their mitts on. I think for me it's going to be a tough decision between this and the Melting Snowman of who I'm going to save until last, but I can use them together right? I'll also start from the bottom upwards as I can't bare to break up his little face!
Huge Lush Christmas Haul 2014
Father Christmas Bath Bomb | £3.50
Could you get anymore festive?! When you look on the Lush site, you know that they have the video of the selected item at the top of the page so you can see a mini demo, well this turns your bath from bright red to vivid green. Talk about Secret Santa! This bath bomb has the sweet fragrance of Snow Fairy, need I say anymore? Go get it!

Huge Lush Christmas Haul 2014
Luxury Lush Pud Bath Bomb | £3.50
The decoration of this bath bomb is beaut; neon pink with little pockets of colour with an embedded holly leaf at the top, a girly twist on the classic Christmas Pudding. Packed full of Lavender, Ylang Ylang, Benzoin Resinoid and Tonka Absolute it has a very floral and warming scent to it. Sometimes I love the smell of this bath bomb and other times I'm not overly fussed, which is mainly due to the Lavender as I sometimes find it can be quite over-powering and headachey. This is perfect for just before bed as we all know that Lavender is the perfect remedy for relaxation and a good nights kip. If you love the fragrance of Twilight Bath Bomb then you'll love this as it's the same.

Huge Lush Christmas Haul 2014
Snow Fairy Shower Gel 500g | £11.95
The well loved and ever so popular Snow Fairy! I'm yet to find someone who doesn't love the smell of this candy scented little pot of heaven. Pink and glittery, what's there not to love? This year it has the added ingredient of seaweed, which is one of the best things you could ever use on your skin if you didn't know. If you've never tried this before, just buy it. You'll luuurve it.

Magic Wand Bubble Bar | £5.25
It's a wand. With a bell. You feel like a little girl when you use this, how cute is it?! If you love Snow Fairy shower gel then you'll adore this. I have a very sweet, bubble gum, candyfloss theme going on here. This is a reusable bubble bar, which shape stays intact, so although it may seem slightly higher in price in comparison to other bubble bars you get more baths out of it. This, snow fairy and the Father Christmas bath bomb will be a bath full of heaven. Lush!

Shoot For The Stars Bath Bomb | £3.50
This looks exactly like what the name implies - mystical and covered in shooting stars. It's so pretty! Containing Brazilian Orange Oil and Bergamot Oil it smells as scrummy as it sounds, it has the same sweet scent as Honey I Washed The Kids so if you're a fan of that then this is certainly one for you. When this is dropped into your tub it creates various shades of blues, violets and pinks - this bath bomb puts on a real show!
