Rate It Or Hate It - Collection Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Concealer

Collection Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Concealer
Happy hump day lovelies!
Sounds awfully rude doesn't it, it's Wednesday you cheeky buggers!

Collection Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Concealer (such a mouthful) seems to be extremely well loved and highly rated in the world of beauty. I've already found my HG concealer (review here) however curiosity and temptation, as always, got the better of me and whilst browsing on the Boots website one lunch time this was added to my shopping bag along with quite a few other items!

The first thing which is make or break -the packaging. If a product doesn't look chic, professional or pretty it's very unlikely to catch my eye and be added to my shopping bag. This is simple and minimal with a no frills about it appearance, which I like as it looks quite stylish and sophisticated looking much more expensive than the £4.19 price tag. The applicator of this is shaped in a lip gloss like tube which is actually much easier to apply, as you can swipe on your ideal amount without pumping out too much product whereas I've found some higher end concealers have a pump which 9 times out of 10 results in a fairly pricey product getting wiped off with a cleansing pad. One thing I've now noticed since I've had this for a good few months and it's gotten fairly comfortable in my make up bag, the majority of the black writing has rubbed off so now it's just a clear-ish tube with a few black marks which looks a little cheap and grubby. Thankfully it is only concealer though as it's not something your going to be whipping out for quickness like how you would a lipstick.

The coverage is brilliant, blends well and is fab for concealing both dark circles and redness. The consistency is fairly thick so a setting powder is a must otherwise this manages to find a cozy little home in those fine lines under your eyes! This claims to have 16 hours staying power which I can't say I entirely agree with as throughout the day at work it needs touching up at least once. The colour range of this product is far from fabulous with only 4 shades to choose from - Light, Cool Medium, Warm Medium and Dark but what can you expect for such an inexpensive item? The shade I had originally chosen was Cool Medium however I was sent Light and was too eager to try this straight away instead of taking a trip into town to exchange for the correct colour. I use this when I'm at my palest as it's the perfect match to my skin tone for when I'm having a really good skin day and just want to conceal any dark circles and redness around my nose. The colour you see on the tube is true to form, what you see is what you get which is brilliant as it's not one of those items which looks amazingly perfect and on point in store but once you get home is a totally different undertone and shade in natural lighting.

I like this product, I don't love it but overall I'm impressed. It does what it says on the tin brilliantly and at £4.19 it doesn't break the bank. Perhaps if I had tried this first before I found Mac Pro Longwear Concealer I would have loved it as much as everyone else but nothing can compete as lets face it once you've had amazing you don't want great!

Are you a lover of this concealer?

Sigma Brushes | Jaclyn Hill Beauty Expert Box

Sigma Jaclyn Hill Beauty Expert Box
Hey darls, any of you who watch the amazingly talented Jaclyn Hill on YouTube would have heard about her collaboration with Sigma Beauty to produce a box containing her 7 favourite, essential make up brushes. If you aren't familiar with Sigma Beauty, they are an American brand founded in 2008 and they produce a wonderful line of vegan brushes alongside other make up goodies. They are a marvellous and cheaper alternative dupe to MAC make up brushes. The quality of these brushes are superb! They are all densely packed with a soft, satin feel to them which give a fabulously flawless final finish. I love the overall professional classy look to these, the handle is also of good quality feeling nice and sturdy with a slight weight. The delivery was extremely quick as these were shipped over from America and I received them within a week and a half of payment confirmation.

This box set was originally released at the beginning of March and the whole months supply was sold out within 3 days! It was then relaunched again around the 3rd week into April (it was an extremely hard and boring waiting game I must say!) and is available til Wednesday 30th of April, if it doesn't get sold out before then, so if you fancy treating yourself to this wonderful set click here to purchase yours for $90.00 (£63.00)
*this does not include delivery or international shipping costs*
I've taken pictures with a description of each brush in case you don't want to have a splurge and would like to purchase a couple to add to your make up collection :)
Sigma F80 Flat Kabuki Brush
Sigma F80 Flat Kabuki Brush
This is my favourite of all the brushes of the set! It's the F80 Flat Kabuki Brush with densely packed synthetic fibres all of the same length. This gives you a flawless finish whether you want to opt for a sheer or full coverage, looks really natural and doesn't give that cakey or patchy finished look to it. This feels like heaven when applying as it's super soft, all of the brushes in this set are, sorry to my Nars Ita Brush they're even more softer than you! Sometimes we can get a little confused with the difference between synthetic and natural hair fibres; basically with synthetic it's going to take all the product and apply all of it onto your skin and not soak it up whereas natural hair fibres would. Imagine putting a product onto your hair it's going to absorb it all - natural hair fibres do the very same. I apply my foundation with this brush by firstly pressing all of the product onto my skin then buff it all together.

I've seen Jaclyn use this plenty of times to blend out her concealer so of course I use this to blend out my concealer (Mean Girl army pants and flip flops moment haha) Although this is much larger compared to most designs of concealer brushes available this blends it out beautifully with quickness and ease. Due to it's coned-like shape this is really good to contour with cream products too.
Sigma F35 Tapered Highlighter

I love the shape and application of this brush! I use this to highlight my cheekbones, nose and just above my brows with my Mary Lou Manizer. The reason I like this so much is because it gives a subtle, natural finish and doesn't pick up too much product which makes you look like you've gone into shimmer overload. I also use this brush to set my under eye concealer.
Sigma E55 Eye Shading Brush

This brush is perfect for an even application of colour across your entire eyelid. Whether it be matte, shimmer or glitter the densely packed bristles picks up great pigmentation. This is also perfect to highlight just underneath your brow bone.
Sigma E30 Pencil Brush

I use this pencil brush to highlight the inner corner of my eyes and to smoke out liner/eyeshadow along the top and bottom of my lash line. This is great to make more of an intense look along your crease or outer v.
Sigma E25 Blending Brush

This is ideal to blend colours together onto the lid with perfect precision and control. It fabulously buffs out any harsh lines for a well-blended effect.
Sigma E40 Tapered Blending Brush

The final brush to the masterpiece! I use this to blend everything together for a stunning smoked out look, this is essential for everyone's make up bag.

As an extra gift Sigma also sent me a travel sized E05 Eyeliner Brush with a gorgeous pink handle, so of course it being pink made me love it even more! Overall I'm extremely happy with this box set and I love all the brushes, they were well worth the wait!

Spring/Summer Clothing Haul - Primark & River Island

Spring/Summer Primark River Island Haul 2014
Summer is my favourite time of year. I love the extended hours of daylight, long walks along the beach with a Mr Whippy in hand, natural glowing suntans, pool parties, festivals, barbecue parties in lush green gardens with fully bloomed flowers - everyone just seems so much more happier when the sun is out and I for one am one of these super cheery, if not slightly annoying, people! My favourite part about summer is buying my new wardrobe, I get far more excited buying pretty dresses with sandals than I do jumpers and scarfs.

On bank holiday Monday I dragged Matt clothes shopping (poor guy) We went to a covered shopping mall which contains all the big shops any girl would love. I went with the mindset of 'Whatever I see I like I'll get' is it me or do you also find that whenever you have lots of money to spend you only see a few things which really take your fancy? Then when you are on a budget you see so many wonderful pieces! Sadly this happened to me, although I did pick up a few really gorgeous garments!
Spring/Summer Primark River Island Haul 2014
First up is my favourite piece of all my purchases, this gorgeous mini skirt from River Island £25.00. It's not something I would normally pick up as it doesn't look anything special on the hanger but I saw this on the mannequin as soon as I walked into the shop and thought it looked absolutely beautiful. I can dress this up or down and I know it's going to be a well loved garment of summer 2014 ;)
Spring/Summer Primark River Island Haul 2014
Also from River Island £16.00 is this white racer back vest top with ribbed detailing. Again this looks nothing special on the hanger but it's really flattering on and it also complimented the skirt above really well too! I personally feel this is more than just your everyday essential, of course I love anything white so I'll be combining this top with a few other pieces too.

Onto the Primark goodies...

When I first saw this  oversized dress I'm certain I've seen it elsewhere but in a much higher end shop compared to Primark but I really can't remember where, have any of you lovelies seen this too? I love the pretty, pastel floral design on the front of this dress to me this just screams Spring/Summer! I also like the ever so slight asymmetric design at the back with the contrasting black. One thing I will say about this dress is to definitely get it in a size or 2 smaller, I brought this in an 8 as that was the smallest they had available but ideally I still could have done with the next size down at least, but for £13.00 how can you complain?!

Another white top - what a surprise. This gorgeous shell top and necklace was only £10.00!! Sometimes you pay that and more for a statement necklace, so it would have been rude to not pick this up wouldn't it? The one thing I struggle with most white shirts/tops is that they can be extremely see through, thankfully this isn't the case with this top at all as the textured material is quite opaque, it's not too thick nor too thin so is perfect for the, hopefully, sunny months ahead. The attached necklace is really pretty and girly with the captivating pastels in the stone detail, as you can see in my photo above that you really need to thoroughly check all your items from Primark as mine is missing a stone right in the centre which you can't tell from afar so it's all good baby baby...
Spring/Summer Primark River Island Haul 2014
When I arrived home from my shopping trip and rummaged through all my purchases I wasn't really too keen on this skirt and as to why I picked it up. However when I popped it on, it looks far better on than it does off. My camera hasn't picked up the lovely colours of the pattern on this floaty, midi skirt they truly are summery and I know I'll be wearing this at any family/friends barbecues. With the lovely price tag of £12.00 both my purse and I are content. I know when I wear this I'm going to feel like I should be an extra in Grease haha!

Another pastel blue floaty midi skirt, for £10.00 how could I resist?

I had a pair of shoes extremely similar to these from Topshop last year which fell to pieces so of course when I saw these they just had to be added to my shopping bag, the only difference being a £40.00 price drop as these were only £8.00! I love the classic, elegant design of these beauties.

My mum always said to me if you can't decide buy both and that I did! Last year Primark released some sandals identical to these apart from the fact that the material was quite plastic with gold beading I much prefer these as I love the fabric and pearl detailing. These were £6.00 a pop but easily look much more expensive. I also picked up 2 more pairs of sandals which are ideal for work. Oh Primark I love your beautiful range of sandals!
Spring/Summer Primark River Island Haul 2014
With it being the Easter bank holiday how could you ignore this adorable, Easter related pack of 3 socks?!
Spring/Summer Primark River Island Haul 2014
I've seen a fair few bloggers of late pick up hair clips like these but in a different pattern. I was originally on the hunt for a floral and pink design, of all the 3 floors I searched alas they only had these in stock but I love the girly touch with the cute bows.

Argan Dew Hair Products Review

Argan Dew Hair Products Review
When it comes to skin and hair products I'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for. You won't ever see me buying anything on the cheap because I've had a insight to certain products and the ingredients used which has completely put me off. Have you ever seen those hair adverts where they say 'gives the illusion of healthy, shiny hair'? Using a cheap product does exactly that! It gives no real benefits to your hair follicle, just the LOOK of it! I've also found that if you pay that bit extra then it lasts much, much longer with amazing results.

'If you buy cheap you buy twice'

A new line of fabulous hair care products called Argan Dew were looking for bloggers to trial and test their products, I of course jumped at the chance to do so. For those of you who aren't familiar with Argan Oil it's an oil which is produced from the kernels within an Argan tree in Morocco. The fruits on the tree are covered by a thick peel which covers a fleshy pulp, the pulp surrounds a hard-shelled nut, within the nut are one to three Argan oil rich kernels. The beautiful oil we love is extracted from these kernels. It's highly valued for it's nutritive and cosmetic properties which help to nourish and protect due to the contents of natural vitamin E, essential fatty acids and antioxidants. It also remains one of the rarest oils in the world due to the small and very specific growing areas. Argan Oil is a honestly a miracle in a bottle for me as since using these oils in my hair care routine they have helped grow my over processed hair from just above shoulder length to the length it is now and in an extremely healthy condition too, which doesn't happen often being a blondey as I'm sure all you fellow blondes out there can agree with me. I had just finished my bottle of Moroccan Oil Treatment, which may I add lasted me ages so this worked out perfectly!

Argan Dew kindly sent me an extremely generous amount of samples of the Miraculous Argan Oil and Replenishing Hair Mask. If you're a regular reader of my blog, you know that of course I trial and test all my products for around 28 days so I can fully see all the benefits and give an honest review. (I'd be a terrible beauty therapist if I didn't!) The shipping was spot on, I couldn't have asked for a better service as they delivered them so quickly - I was in contact with Argan Dew on the Saturday morning and received the products the following Monday which is what I'd call a super speedy delivery as they are shipped from Israel. They were all in sachets which is perfect as that way you can't help yourself to more than what your hair needs.Argan Dew Miraculous Oil

I'm already a huge lover of high-end hair oils as trust me, they do work. I normally wash my hair every 2-3 days and apply this to towel dried hair, mid-length to ends. I found with these sachets I got 2 uses out of them as you honestly need the smallest amount, due to my hair being damp the product spreads much more easily, works exactly the same as when you apply your body moisturiser to cleansed skin ;) It smells divine and leaves your hair feeling beautifully smooth and silky soft - this really is such a luxurious treat for your locks! It retails here at 100ml for $39.00 which works out to be about £23 which I personally feel is an utter bargain considering I have been paying around the £30 mark for my previous hair treatment oil and I love this just as much if not more! I'd highly recommend anyone who doesn't use an oil in their hair routine to give this a go as all of our barnets need a boost especially as we are now going into summer.

Argan Dew Replenishing Hair Mask
If there's one thing I love just as much as my hair oils it has to be a hair mask; it must have been pot luck that Argan Dew sent me my 2 faves! I use this 1-2 times a week after my shampoo but before my conditioner, again I only needed to use half a sachet as this was more than enough. Although if you're lucky enough to have really thick hair the whole sachet would be ideal. This smells and feels wonderful leaving your hair soooo lustrous and glossy. I'm also thrilled by the fact that this hair mask helps shield your hair from future damage from natural elements and everyday stress by forming a protective layer to hydrate, revive and renew your tresses. A work colleague of mine even complimented on how healthy and shiny my hair was the next day after usage. Since using this for weekly for a month I can certainly notice how much healthier my locks look and feel due to using these beauties! This tub of heaven retails here at 250ml for $44.00 which works to be roughly £26 which again is a steal as you need such a small amount and using this weekly it will last you months!
I only have a couple of sachets left now so in the next week or 2 I'll be ditching my current brand and be making a rather large purchase at Argan Dew as they also have a couple of other products (Argan Dew Enriching Shampoo & Argan Dew Lustrous Conditioner) which have caught my eye! If you like to try products before you buy you can receive some free samples here with just $1.99 shipping cost as if it couldn't get any better?! I'd just like to thank Argan Dew for giving me this fab opportunity to trail, test and review their marvellous products.
Have you ever tried any of Argan Dew fab products?

Nars Ita Kabuki Brush Review

Hey darls, hope you've all had a fab weekend
Some of you may have been slightly aware that I had been on the prowl for this make up brush for a good few months. All the searching was worthwhile as I finally managed to hunt it down! YAY.
I brought this beauty here :)
Let me start by saying that when it comes to contouring this is hands down THE most amazing brush I have ever come across and without a doubt lives up to all the hype it's received. I love how the sleek, unique design sets it worlds apart from the other brushes available on the market. As you can see this is a flat tapered brush which creates a perfect, precise application which is ideal for contour enthusiasts like myself. The shape and handle also makes this artist tool much easier to sculpt out the face - it's certainly made my contour routine tons easier and a lot lot quicker! I'm also loving that it's the perfect size to get into smaller areas such as the sides of your nose. I'm not sure why but I thought that the bristles of this brush would be more course/scratchy due to it being made of goat hair, but it's not at all - infact I'd even say it's the softest brush I own. It's like a baby's bum it's that soft haha! It picks up product easily and is perfect at blending, I just flip the brush horizontal to feather out any edges of a harsh contour line to give a more natural look. The only negative I have of this product is the handle. The rubber, matte black handle looks professional and classy but it's very prone to getting grubby and stained. But I suppose that's the way it is with all Nars products!

Yes it's more on the pricey side at £43.00 (clueless as to why it's gone up in price) but this product has been on my wishlist long enough and I know it will last me ages so I'll definitely be getting my moneys worth! Contouring lovers this is the brush for you - you need this in your life! I'd also highly recommend this to any newbies to the contouring scene as this brush practically does it all for you :)

The Wonders Of Dry Body Brushing

Espa Dry Body Brush
Espa Dry Body Brush
Espa Dry Body Brush
Hey darls, how quick is this year going?! It's my first APRIL post!
Here is another beauty product which I have become obsessed with!

Have you ever found that some of the most effective things are the simplest? This is one of my life quotes & it also sums up this post perfectly! Dry body brushing may seem like the one product that you're more 'mehh' about & would be the one you least reach for, however the benefits to your skin are uh-may-zing! The skin can produce more than one pound of waste toxins everyday & if you don't eliminate these they will just get absorbed back into your body again causing dead skin cells & other impurities to build up. Disgusting right? I never knew this until a few months back & that is what got me hooked onto a body brush!  Daily body brushing helps to improve circulation, reduce cellulite, eliminate nasty toxins & makes your skin feel beautifully soft! This also helps to get that perfectly pert butt if you're a religious squatter like I am!

My brush is from Espa & retails here for £16.00. I know for some this may seem a bit pricey but if you look after your body brush it will last you a lifetime! It's made from natural bristles from Mexican cactus plants which is far more effective than a synthetic brush.

Do you use a body brush?
What's the one product you use everyday without fail?
