Update & Mini Lush Haul

Lush Haul
Happy Mothers Day darls!

First up let me apologise about my recent absence & lack of posts the past 2 weeks or so, they've been manic and stressful to say the very least. Everything's returning back to normal so I'll be back to my usual self & posting more regularly. I missed my little corner on the web so much but I do hope that you guys know that I always do quality over quantity when it comes to blogging. The thing I enjoy most about my blog is sitting down & writing about something I'm passionate about than knocking up a post willy nilly just for the sake of posting. I have a list as long as my whole body so I can assure you that I'll have heaps of posts to come! Anyhoo enough of me getting sidetracked and rambling on I recently popped into Lush for the first time since Christmas - so a very loooong time! (For me anyway haha) Of course they had their Easter goodies on display so it would have been rude to not pick up a couple!

Lush Fluffy Egg Review

This is a really cute, pink, mini Easter egg shaped Bath Bomb with a beautiful embedded floral decoration. If you love the ever so popular Snow Fairy then you'll love this! It has a really candy, bubblegum & girly scent to it - it's divine. Strong yet not over powering and lingers on your skin afterwards (even the boyfriend noticed how lush I smelt) Once you've dropped this into your tub it fizzles out, leaving a bright pink explosion in it's path. I'm definitely going to stock up on this as it's an Easter special edition. This really is a bath fit for a Princess!

Lush Golden Egg Review
Lush Golden Egg Review

If you're like me & you love anything glitzey then you'll be in your element with this beautiful Golden Egg! Lush had a genius idea to combine a bath bomb & bath melt into one. It has a very sweet, honey fragrance which really is scrummy, it smells very similar to Honey I Washed The Kids. The reviews on this product seems to be like marmite due to the glitter clinging onto everything it comes into contact with & the fact that it takes a while to fizz out due to it being 2 products rolled into 1. I've not yet tried this but I'm certain I'll love it as the smell really is delicious, although it will be interesting to see how the glitter situation will work out! Again this is an Easter limited edition so if this does take your fancy I'd highly recommend you stock up.

Lush Stepping Stone Review

As it's now officially Spring - YAY - it's time to get out your tootsies, get your pedicures booked in and get rid of any dry skin! I love how this is shaped as a very cute miniature foot, it was actually the main reason for me picking it up. (As you know I'm a sucker for anything cute and mini) The fragrance is minty/herbal which is so fresh & uplifting due to lime, lemon & lemongrass which is the perfect recipe for your feet after a very long & tiring day! This is a scrub pumice which helps to aid in the removal of dry skin & foot odor, as well as keeping your skin feeling silky soft & supple due to the addition of cocoa butter & organic jojoba oil. The assistant in the Lush store told me when using this to break it up in little bits then add to your bath/bowl of water, however when I done this it seemed to dissolve very quickly, too quickly in fact. I've personally discovered that the best way to use this is to still break it up into small pieces then add a tiny amount of water so it becomes a paste like consistency, smear all over your foot (it works better one foot at a time) then apply a few drops of water & give your feet a good ole scrub! I then left this on for a few minutes, how you would a foot mask, so my feet could really absorb this gorgeous product. Then with your bath/bowl of water apply some more of this scrub then once you pop your feet in scrub some more. My feet definitely felt a lot softer, I can't comment on any dry/hard skin removal as I have the most uh-may-zing foot file which does all that for me! *Review to come*

Who Doesn't Love A New Lipstick?

 Topshop Nevada Lipstick Review
Topshop Nevada Lipstick Review
Topshop Nevada Lipstick Review
Topshop Nevada Lipstick Review
We all have that one item where you get complete satisfaction when buying.
Mine is lipstick. Closely followed by skincare products & handbags.
As if you didn't know already..

The other day whilst browsing in Topshop I realised I hadn't paid much attention to their make up range for an extremely long time. So long in fact it wasn't soon after Topshop launched their make up range, which was 2010 I believe. I can't even remember the name of the lipstick I brought, but I do remember that the colour, formula & staying power was spot on.

I brought the lipstick 'Nevada' which is a beautiful peach toned nude. I find it very hard to find a nude lipstick which doesn't make it look like you decided to swap your lippie for concealer - this doesn't do that at all. Yay! It is a Velvet/Satin Finish which feels very silky & moisturising when applied, it also slides on like a beaut. It's very opaque for a nude shade, one swipe of colour & you're done! Perfect right? I really like the fact that Topshop have named their lipsticks, as lets face it even though it doesn't effect the final product it does make a difference. The staying power is ok, but what do you expect for a lighter shade? This will look gorgeous with a dramatic smokey eye or even just as your everyday lipstick. You can purchase it here for £8 - which is perfect for your purse :)

Overall I'm really impressed with this lipstick, it ticks all the boxes!

Have you tried this lipstick?

2 Must Have Beauty Products!

Elemis Frangipani
My name's Charlotte & I'm addicted to Elemis products.

Some of you may be aware that I'm a slight Elemis Junkie. For those of you who aren't familiar with Elemis, they are one the leading British Skincare Brands, all of their products & the knowledge behind the products are absolutely fabulous! Since using this brand, I have seen wonders to my skin & I'm certain I won't use anything else. They may be a tad more expensive than say a brand which you can find in Boots, but I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for. I've also found that they last you such a long time due to the fact that you only need a tiny amount, so I see this as an investment therefore I can justify paying a little bit extra. Elemis also have something called 'Our Promise' this means that the majority of their products are free from Parabens, SLS, SLES, DEA, Mineral Oils, Artificial Colours & Silicone - these are all nasties which you don't want to be putting onto your body! Anyway enough of me rambiling on, these are my 2 holy grail body products. If any of you pass an Elemis counter I highly recommend that you gives these a sniff as they are divine! They smell so delicious you could eat them!

Elemis Frangipani Monoi Salt Glow

Elemis Frangipani Monoi Salt Glow
 Elemis Frangipani Monoi Salt Glow

This is heaven in a tub! This is one of the newer products which I'm pretty sure, judging by the reviews, has gone down a treat. It's an extremely luxurious salt scrub which leaves your skin feeling silky soft & nourished. Due to the fact that it is a salt scrub this can be used as a 2 in 1, the salt exfoliates any dead skin cells whilst the oil hydrates & moisturises. When you shower this off the beautiful smell lingers on your body for the rest of the day! It's not abrasive either, I use this twice a week & most of you are probably aware that I'm a bit of tanaholic, this doesn't affect the tan in any way infact I'd probably say this helps to prolong any kind of tan whether it be from a bottle or from the sun!

Elemis Frangipani Monoi Body Oil

Elemis Frangipani Monoi Body Oil

Bliss in a bottle! This little beauty has made it into my top 3 products of all time. Enriched with Frangipani Flowers, Exotic Tahitian Monoi & Coconut Oil, this 3 in 1 is perfect for your body, hair & nails! Due to the fact it contains coconut oil when it's cool it solidifies but once you put it in a basin with warm water it soon melts into an oil. I much prefer body oils to thick creams or body butters as I personally find after bathing using an oil is absorbed much quicker into your skin. I've also found another usage for this product alongside the other 3 (I know, as if 3 isn't enough?!) - a wonderful lip balm! I cleaned an empty lip balm case I had in one of my vanity draws, warmed up the Frangipani Oil, poured a small amount in then left it to cool - voila! It's been my lips best friend all winter :) I also love how you can never pour out too much product due to the controlled lid, a little goes a very long way.

You can use these products on their own but I love using them together as you feel & smell gorgeous!

Have you ever tried either of these products?
What's your two body products you can't live without?

I love a Personal/Life post as we all enjoy a little snoop now & then! Whether it be a blog post or YouTube video these are always the ones that I enjoy most as I love finding out about the person behind the computer screen. But I do hope you enjoy!

My Make Up Wish List

Make Up Wish List
Since I've started blogging I've found it even easier to be able to justify spending my money on even more make up products to add to my never ending collection. Here are a few products which I have been eyeing up of late. You know these will be purchased extremely soon...;)

Make Up Forever HD Foundation : I've seen so many Beauty Gurus use these in their make up tutorials & the finished effect is freakin' fabulous! I'm over the moon that Sephora are now shipping to the UK as this has made it even easier to arrive through my letter box.

YSL Touche Éclat : After recently seeing my bestest blogging friend Abby review this product I have gone from wanting this product to needing this product! (Check out her review here)

Benefit Gimme Brow : I'm ashamed to admit that I was once one of those young girls who over plucked their eyebrows to within an inch of their lives & they've never fully grown back. (Yes I thought I looked fab) This seems like a miracle in a tube for me.

Nars ITA Kabuki Brush : Okay so I'm someone who will find a product they want in their life & I will hunt it down no matter how long it takes me. This has easily been the hardest product to add to my shopping bag - if any of you see this in stock pleaseee let me know as I'm desperate to get my hands on this!

Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette : I feel like the only person in the whole blogosphere who doesn't own at least one of these palettes :( As much as they all look amazing number 2 just seems a bit more 'me'

Nars Orgasm Blush : An award winning blush which needs to become part of my make up bag! I think this would go perfectly alongside my Nars Ita Kabuki Brush (when I finally get it)

What make up products are on your wish list?
Do you own any of these products? (Go on make me jealous..)

The Bomb! I Mean The Balm

The Balm Mary Lou Manizer | Review
The Balm Mary Lou Manizer | Review
The Balm Mary Lou Manizer | Review
This is the Queen of all the highlighters!

I brought the Mary Lou Manizer off Amazon a few months back for £15.00 - although you can get it here from Feel Unique for £16. The first thing I loved about this product is the packaging (I now believe in love at first sight) it has somewhat of a vintagey, girly feel & it has my name written all over it! I'm so sad that I dropped this & it smashed to smithereens :-( damn you wooden floor! So apologies for not being able to show you the inside of this beauty, as I highly doubt you all fancy seeing a broken product.

So I'm assuming you're wondering whether or not this product is just as fabulous on the inside as it is on the outside? Absolutely! Once opened this has a nice-sized compact mirror which is the perfect on the go product - if yours in still intact of course! This highlighter is a light gold, champagne colour which looks just as beautiful on the skin as it does in the pan. I apply this with a fan brush you only need a tiny amount to start off with as you can apply too much if you're a bit product happy like myself, so I would highly recommend that you start off lightly then build to your desired look. It's super easy to blend & gives a gorgeous natural glow. I use this alongside my Bobbi Brown Bronzer (review here) which gives you an amazing contour, so the contrast between light & dark really makes your bone structure pop!

As some of you may know I love my products to have more than one usage - this can be used to highlight your cheeks, underneath your brows & cupids bow but it is also a really pretty shimmery eyeshadow which is one of my go-to everyday looks.

This is a must-have for your make up bag ladies!

Have you tried the Mary Lou Manizer?

Yankee Candle Fireside Treats

Sick Day Essentials

On those days where you're feeling poorly there's nothing better than being all snug in your softest onesie, cuddling your cat & watching your favourite films all day. (Trust mine to be Disney) Of course a nice brew always makes anything kind of situation seem that bit better - I'm sure many Soap Operas would agree with me as they always seem to pop the kettle on when there is any kind of drama! I've also lit one of my favourite Yankee Candles in the scent 'Fireside Treats' to hopefully cheer me up & give my room a nice fragrance with a beautiful ambiance. You then of course have to have the nicest bath full all your Lush and Soap&Glory goodies because we all deserve a pamper sesh, especially when you're not feeling your greatest.

The Best Fake Tan Everrr!

Before - Straight After - Fully Developed
Check out my nobbly knees :|
I love fake tan!

It's amazing how much it can boost your confidence & make you feel a million times better. I know not many people are a fan of the fakeies, but as long as it's natural looking then I personally feel there is nothing wrong with it! There are so many brands of fake tan to choose from, it can get a wee bit confusing. I've been fake tanning for what seems like the longest time, I've tried a huge variety & I've finally found THE ONE! The amazing SIENNA X! First & foremost the best thing about this tan is....wait for it..........there is more than one shade!!! It makes a change to find a tanning brand which doesn't have one bottle that is 'suited' for everyone, no matter how pale or how dark you are - I'm sure all you fellow pale ladies can agree with me on the fact that it can be super hard to find a tanning brand which doesn't make you look like an Oompa Lumpa!

Some of you fake tan newbies may be wondering how you get the golden colour & if it's safe to use on your skin. DHA (Dihydroxyacetone - good luck trying to pronounce that!) is the main ingredient in tanning products. A Sienna X assistant once told me that it involves a reaction between DHA, skin proteins & oxygen. The sugar in the DHA reacts with the amino acids on our skin & oxygen turning our skin brown. To make this much more easier imagine if you take a bite out of an apple +  leave it on the side for a few hours = it starts to turn brown - fake tan works in a very similar way. DHA has been used in cosmetics for almost 30 years, it is not absorbed through the skin into the body & has no known toxicity. Sienna X contains aloe vera, sweet almond oil & cocoa butter along with an anti-cellulite formula. If that wasn't enough it is also alcohol, paraben & cruelty free - I know right?!
Sienna X comes in a variety of shades ranging from 6% - 16% (light-dark) Although don't be scared of these percentages as a trained consultant will most likely be able to tell you your shade just by looking at you! I normally opt for an 8% as it's the most natural looking & complimentary to my skin tone.

Here are my top tips I do before tanning:

Shave/wax 24-48 hours beforehand as your skin can be a tiny bit more sensitive if this is done on the same day
Exfoliate the night before to lift any dead skin cells
Remove deodorant as you may find you have green underarms (how attractive?) but once you wash obviously it will go it can just act as a barrier
Remove make up, perfume & any moisturiser as these too can also act as a barrier. You won't need to use your own moisturiser on your knees, elbows, feet & hands as your therapist will give you some barrier cream to apply to these areas as there is a possibility of tan build-up.
Wear loose, dark clothing as you don't want any strap marks - especially if it's for a special occasion where you're wearing something strapless i.e prom/bride/bridesmaid
If you rarely moisturise your body - GET MOISTURISING! Fake tan can be quite drying to the skin so you don't want the tan to cling to any dryness which can give that patchy, alligator effect!

When you have a spray tan I will give you the heads up that it can be a little bit tepid but once the tan is applied you then have the machine nozzle to dry you with which is lovely & warm! :) The tan takes around 8 hours to develop so I would highly recommend having this of an evening so when you're asleep it can really get to work without anything which may ruin your tan & it also doesn't interfere with your everyday business. Sienna X also doesn't stain your bedsheets woohoo!

Most of you will know this, but those of you who don't - water is not your friend! You want to avoid this at all costs as any splashes will cause the tan to run thus resulting in a very patchy tan. When you first wake up the tan will be much darker than it is when you wash it off, this is just the guide colour so that spray tanners can see where they are applying the tan - you'll then see when you have a shower it all running off you which is very much a moment where you're like 'Nooo come back!' It's recommend that you shower instead of bath (if you can) when wanting to prolong a tan as the heat from a really hot bath can cause the tan to fade, also to pat yourself dry instead of really rubbing yourself dry because again this can do the same. You also want to carry on moisturising daily & I always exfoliate on day 3 just to prolong the tan that bit more! Yes I'm a tanaholic & proud :)

Ooohh another tip - when the tan cannot be prolonged anymore & a scrub just doesn't do the job have the hottest bath you can handle, scrub again (those exfoliating gloves that you can get for £1 are really good) & when you get out really rub your skin with a towel - the heat will help lift those dead skin cells a lot easier & quicker!
Sienna X spray tan is on average £20.00 depending on where you go & a retail bottle to self tan at home is around £15.00

Wow what a long post! If you read it all thank you ever so much - I just have so much information & tips I love sharing with you all! Let me know if you would like a follow up post with my favourite self tan at home products.
