Valentines Gift Ideas For Him

Can you believe that in just 14 days time it will be Valentines Day?! Christmas & New Years only seemed a couple of weeks away! I love celebrating Valentines Day as I'm a complete romantic at heart.
It can be really hard to buy something for that special hunk in your life, especially if you've only just started dating someone. I've selected a few gift ideas which any man would love to receive, also for a complete range of budgets!

1. Meal
You can never beat a nice meal whether it be in a romantic restaurant or something you've made yourself. I love cooking the odd meal for my boyfriend & I find that steak is always a gooden - easy to cook & what man doesn't love steak?! My mum has always told me that a way to a mans heart is through his stomach!

2. Wallet
Is it me or does every man seem to not have a wallet?! Then they moan when they loose their money or bankcards! This is the perfect essential for any mans pocket.

3. Spa Break
Everyone loves & deserves a pamper sesh & what more than going to a lovely spa for a day/weekend, it can be just down the road from where you live but can seem like your a million miles away. A whole day of relaxation - this way you can get treated yourself too :)

4. Turtle Beach Head Set
This is something of which I have heard my boyfriend & brother have many conversations about, the sound quality is supposed to be amazing. Although this may not be a good idea if your boyfriend is a game console addict!

5. Jean Paul Gaultier Aftershave
Aftershave is always a winner! I personally love Jean Paul Gaultier on a man.

6. Sweets!
Who doesn't love sweets?! I know that Matt would be sooo happy with just loads of Haribo! (You wouldn't think he was 28 would you?! Haha)

7. Prison Break Boxset
If you haven't seen Prison Break GO GET IT! This is perfect for both men & women it's action/crime/thriller & there's also a bit of eye candy in it for you ;)

8. AllSaints Trousers £75.00
I think these trousers are gorgeous & would suit my boyfie perfectly! I love All Saints clothing for men although I do think that it they can sometimes be a bit pricey for certain things.

9. Hobbies
Does your boyfriend have any hobbies? Mine is a fisherman therefore I know anything I get him which relates to this he will love.

10. Calvin Klein Boxers
What a bod ;)
I hope my ideas helped you! Even if you don't buy huge extravagant gifts, the fact that you care/love each other & spend the day together is the most important thing :)

Matt & I will most likely go out for dinner, possibly a movie & get each other some nice gifts!

Do you celebrate Valentines day?
What gifts have you brought your lover?

Snippets Of Life In 2013

Alreeeet lovemuffins!

As I'm a fairly new to the blogging world not many of you really know much about me, my life or even what I look like. I love to know about the person whose blog I'm reading, therefore I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to share with you some of my favourite moments of last year.

Places visited - Dominican Republic, Bury St Edmonds, London, Brighton & Centre Parcs.
Also the odd night out with loved ones :)

Of all the places I visited last year Dominican Republic was definitely my fave!
What was your favourite moment of last year?

My Holy Grail: Mac Pro Longwear Concealer

Mac Pro Longwear Concealer NC20
Mac Pro Longwear Concealer NC20

So you may have seen this product flying around the beauty world like there's no tomorrow.
(If you haven't then you must have been living under a rock..)
I saw my favourite, trusted beauty YouTuber singing this concealers praises like there were no tomorrow & that's when I new I needed to get to Mac asap!

I've been using this for few months now & it is the best concealer I have ever got my paws on.

The best thing about this is that it does not crease! It can seem like a never ending battle to find a good concealer that actually conceals without creasing - no matter how much powder you use after, it always finds a snug little home in the fine lines under your eyes!

I have the shade NC20 which is perfect for me. It's a bit lighter than my skin tone when I have applied fake tan so it's a really good product to highlight underneath my eyes, down the bridge of my nose & slightly above my eyebrows.

I normally apply this over my foundation but I want to show how amazing the coverage is.
(I haven't tanned by the way)

The coverage is UH-MAY-ZING! It provides medium to full coverage & is super easy to blend. This product lasts you ALL DAY. After a busy 12 hour day at work, when I remove my make up you can see the concealer on the cotton pad! Mac claims that it can last up to 15 hours, after my 12 hour day I would say this is true. It conceals any dark under-eye circles, discolorations & blemishes amazingly well. I apply this product in dots around the area of which I want to conceal & blend with my ring finger as I find the heat of your hands blends the product even better than when used with a make up brush.

The packaging comes in a clear glass vial with a matte black pump. It's pretty, professional & the perfect size (not to mention hygienic too) When I first started using this product I found that I pumped out wayyyyy to much than what I needed, no matter how softly I pressed it. Which thus resulted in half the product being wiped away. Although after a month or so of using this everyday I've found that this doesn't happen anymore. Whether it's because the pump has eased or there is less product in there I'm not sure, but this is the only con I have of this product.

Mac Pro Longwear Concealer is sold here at £15.50 for 9ml. I don't think this is pricey as you need such a tiny amount therefore it will last you forever!

This is now my holy grail concealer & as soon as run out I'll definitely be repurchasing. I'd even go as far as saying if I were stranded on a desert island this would be the product I'd have - that's saying something!

Yes you should buy it!
Yes you need it in your life!
Yes it is the best concealer everrr!

Have you ever tried Mac Pro Longwear concealer?
If not, what's your favourite concealer?

When life gives you lemons..

..get a sock!

We all have those mornings where nothing goes right - you've overslept, you're in a rush getting ready & you can find anything you need! This happens to me far too often to count. I had a big event Friday just gone, so the evening before I sorted my outfit & how I was going to have my hair & make up. I originally planned on putting my hair into a fishtail plait, alas it never works when you really want it to does it? I then resorted to putting my hair into a high, big bun - what a surprise, I couldn't find my hair doughnut!

I was running out of time by now so it was either improvise or a high sleek ponytail.
I improvised.
I got a sock.

I have heard & seen a few people using a sock instead of a hair doughnut but being blonde I always thought that you would be able to see the sock through me hair! Also the fact that putting a sock in my hair to achieve a hairstyle has never crossed my mind.

I got a white trainer sock (I stole this from my boyfriend as his feet are huuuge) cut off the ends & rolled it down so it looked like a miniature bun. There are a few techniques as to how you can style your hair using the sock/doughnut but I'll be telling you my way today :)
I pulled my ponytail through the sock, backcombed with my Head Jog 15 brush, wrapped around to get it big & clipped with hair pins (not a hair band as you wont get the sweeping round/walnut whip effect) Sprayed with hair spray, although after I do this I then hold it but lift it slightly just so it gets that bit bigger/higher.

I'm pretty impressed with the final look! I think I'll still stick to using my hair doughnut but this is always a good alternative if I can't find it again or if you don't want to buy a hair doughnut & have plenty of socks that you don't mind chopping up at home.
You can get doughnuts in all different sizes I use the size Medium.
Do you use a doughnut or sock?
Do you style your hair like I do or do you do it a different way?

Review: Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder Golden Light

If any of you follow me on Twitter, then you'll know that last week I had a poorly head & that my lovely boyfie brought me this to cheer me up!
(Even Bobbi Brown herself approved I'll have you know)

After reading & hearing a ton of amazing reviews on this bronzing powder from other beauty bloggers & YouTubers, I knew I needed this product in my life. I think I must have got on Matt's nerves constantly saying how much I wanted it - poor guy! So you could imagine that I was completely made up when he brought me this & that having a poorly head wasn't so bad when you get beauty goodies to make you feel better :)

The shade I have is 1 Golden Light, it's the lightest shade that Bobbi Brown offers. I love how in her range there is a product which suits every skin tone. The undertone leans slightly towards golden, which means that you won't get any orangeyness - which for fair girls like me can be really hard to find a bronzer that isn't too dark that makes it look like you've smeared dirt on your face or looks like there is less orange in a fruit bowl (yes I've had someone say that to me before)
Golden Light is a really subtle matte colour with no shimmer that's perfect for bronzing & contouring. This really is a great product to contour with due to the matte finish, plus it doesn't seem like too much if you add blush & highlighter. For a bronzer it's perfect as it looks so natural & give you a gorgeous sun-kissed glow!

This powder is super pigmented, like soooo pigmented. I know that it will last me ages due to the fact that you need to apply hardly any on your make up brush - it also never goes on uneven or looks muddy as it's super easy to blend. You can also use this as an eyeshadow for the crease of your eyes too - bonus!

The packaging is of a high quality too. It's a beautiful, sleek, black compact that's nice & sturdy, it's also really easy to open with the push button & snap closure. It also has a big mirror which makes it the perfect on-the-go product.
I personally feel like this is the best make up bronzing powder I have ever used, especially when used for contouring. Thank you Bobbi Brown for finally helping me find my holy grail bronzing powder!

Liebster Award

Liebster Award

Well today has been a super happy day for me. I've been nominated not once, not twice but SEVEN times for the Liebster Award. Yay! Thank you soooo much to all the lovely ladies who have nominated me.

I have been nominated by Stephanie, Emily, Alessandra, Abby, Orianna Rosa, Georgiana and Gemma & Laura!

Stephanie :

Emily :

Alessandra :

Abby :

Orianna Rosa :

Georgiana :

Gemma & Laura :

Due to the fact of being nominated so many times I've decided to do the first 3 posts. I hope you ladies don't mind - I love reading all your blogs & think your posts are amazing!

Liebster award is an award to help promote new bloggers.
The word Liebster is German for dearest, lovely, and valued.

Stephanie's questions:

1.  What made you start blogging?
I've been following beauty bloggers & Youtubers for around a year or so now, and one day I thought, I'd love to join in. So on December 13th 2013 I sat down & 'Vanity Fairest' was made :)
2.  How do you define beauty?
Beauty comes from within - cliché I know but this is so true! Beauty comes in all different shapes, sizes & colours. To me an amazing personality & sense of humour is much more beautiful than someone's appearance.
3.  What in life gives you the satisfaction of happiness?
Love - Now you're all definitely going to think I'm a cringe bag! I'm most happiest when I'm with my family, boyfriend, besties & cat (crazy cat lady alert!)
4.  What are your favourite cosmetic brands?
Skincare always has & always will be the amazing Elemis. With make up I'm constantly trying new brands, although I am a bit of a Mac junkie.
5.  What kind of post do you like to read most?
Everyone's blog is totally different which is what I love. I enjoy 'getting to know' the person who's blog I'm reading as I like to relate to them in some way & put a face to a name.
6.   What is your fashion style?
I like anything girly & pretty, I literally live in anything cream/nude/white/pink.

7.  What's your favourite OPI nail polish?
I don't actually own any OPI nail polishes (I know - some of you are probably completely baffled as to why) The reason being I much prefer China Glaze. The range of colours are beautiful, the durability is even better & they're cheaper too!
8.  Who is your favourite Youtuber?
Top 3 - Jaclyn Hill, Tanya Burr & Lauren Curtis.
9.  What is your dream job/career?
I love the job I'm in - the beauty industry. Beauty is my passion & I'm so lucky to be doing something I love everyday. I couldn't imagine doing anything else!
10.  What is your beauty holy grail products?
I've narrowed this down to 2 products, one being skincare & the other make up. My holy grail skincare product is my Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm (I rave about this product here) You will never & I mean never, catch me going to bed without cleansing my face! No matter how tired/lazy/drunk I am. And for make up its got to be my Maybelline Colossal Lashes mascara (I rave about this product here too)
11.  What is your goal for 2014?
The main thing I'd like to do this year is focus on my blog & possibly even meet some of you?!

Emilys questions:

1. What was your reason to start blogging?
I have a huuuge passion for beauty & I wanted to share my thoughts & experiences with you all.
2. What is your favourite item in your wardrobe?
My favourite Winter purchases this year have to be either my black fur cape or my pale pink Topshop coat.
3. Who is your biggest inspiration?
My parents.
4. Where do you see yourself in 10 years time?
Hopefully in a beautiful quaint cottage in the country, married with 2 children or 5 cats ha! (Cats sound much more appealing)
5. What is one product you can't live without?
Mascara all day! It opens up your eyes so much & can transform a whole make up look.
6. What are you most passionate about?
Beauty durrr!
7. If you were stranded on a desert island, name 3 people you would choose to be with you (fictional or not)?
My Dad because he would be able to look after me & probably catch a fish with his bare hands haha (Can you tell he does everything for me already?!)

My two best friends Lydia & Sophie as we've been there for each other literally through thick & thin. I couldn't imagine being stranded anywhere without these girlies, as the very few times I have been stuck somewhere has been with Lyds & Soph anyhoo!

I'm going to go for a fictional character for the last person - Christian Grey! We all need a bit of eye candy & as he's so rich he would probably get a plane to save us. ;)
8. Who is your celeb crush?
Matt Bomer! *drools* If you don't know who he is, you need to know who he is! He's has a husband though so that rules out all my chances with a dish like him.
9. Nail Varnish or Lipstick?
Gotta be me lippies.
10. Favourite band/artist? (I love knowing this from people!)
I like a bit of everything! Especially things from the 80s & noughties!
11. What was your biggest new years resolution?
I didn't really set myself any major New Year resolutions, I'm going to make my blog my main priority though & possibly start a YouTube Chanel. (Thoughts on this?)
Alessandra's questions:

1. What is your favourite memory?
Growing up in the little village where I used to live, we had a beautiful house in the countryside & for miles around we were surround by fields with horses. I had the best upbringing & memories there.
2. Who is your biggest inspiration?
My mum & pops.
3. What inspired you to start a blog?
I wanted to express my love for all things beauty & meet others who felt the same.
4. If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?
World hunger. The thought of anyone starving makes me want to cry :'(
5. What is your favourite thing to do when you're bored?
I'm usually so busy I never really get the chance to be bored, I'd probably browse the web?
6. Who is your "celebrity crush"?
Matt Bomer!!!!
7. Who is your favourite musician?
Meh I don't really have one to be honest.
8. Which do you prefer: Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat or YouTube?
YouTube! Followed by Twitter, I don't have/like Facebook & I've never used Snapchat.
9. TV or Music?
TV I love reality shows & catching up on my fave box sets. I've watched Prison Break 3 times - oh that reminds me, Wentworth Miller is another celeb crush of mine too. He has a husband as well though..
10. What is your dream career?
I've wanted to be in the beauty industry for as long as I can remember, so I'm already in my dream job.
11. What is your New Year's Resolution?

Big Voluminous Locks

Babyliss Heated Rollers
I love big curly hair! Whether it's perfect curls or loose waves, I'm a lover of them all.

Yesterday evening I was going out with the besties, so I rolled my hair with my Babyliss 3035BU Thermo Ceramic Rollers - the BEST rollers ever. I have quite fine hair but a lot of it, so I'm fairly lucky in the sense I can do pretty much anything with it & it will stay how I styled it.

To achieve this look I started by washing my hair, applied Clynol Flatter Hold 2 Thermal Protector Spray & then blow dried my hair upside down. By doing this, it gives your hair a lot more volume. I then applied my heated rollers & left for around 20 minutes (longer may be needed if you have thicker hair) If you have clip in hair extensions, I would highly recommend rolling them first either the night before or in the morning, then applying & rolling your own hair - this way they will last all evening without dropping. :)

I then removed the rollers & left the curls for a moment or two. DO NOT brush the curls! Not even with your fingers. I then backcombed the roots of my hair with my Head Jog 15 brush, sprayed with Schwarzkopf Silhouette hair spray - this stuff holds your hair like curazy! Be careful though as it can make your hair a teeny bit crusty & crusty hair is not the ideal look we are going for.

Once you have done the above - voila!

If I have an event or am going somewhere nice this is my 'go to' hair style & I love it!

Do you prefer big curls, waves or straight hair?
Have you ever tried any kind of heated rollers?

NOTD China Glaze Pro Gel

I know - I've actually got a dark polish on my nails! Are you as shocked as me?! Some of you may have read on one of my previous posts here & I mentioned how didn't like dark colours on me. So after what seems like forever of having red on my nails due to the festive season, I braved it & went for a darkie. One of my very many New Years Resolutions is to try things that I wouldn't normally do. Go me for finally achieving one only 10 days into January!
This is a gel polish I have on by China Glaze Pro Gel. I loveee this brand for all nail polishes as they are just so unbelievably durable, not to mention the gorgeous range of colours. I opted for Aubergine which is a really dark purple, so dark that it almost looks black. On my ring finger & thumb I had Trophy Cup which is actually a gold glitter, although once it's put under the UV lamp it changes to silver. (Don't ask me why, weird I know)
Have you ever tried China Glaze nail polishes? Do you prefer dark or bright nails?

Mini Haul MUA Make Up

Hey my lovelies hope you've all had a fabulous Monday! Nothing like a mini make up haul to cheer you up on apparently the 'most depressing' day of the year! I have tried some of the MUA (Make Up Academy) products before & considering how cheap they are & the fact I liked them, why not add a few more to my collection.

Make Up Academy Make Up
Make Up Academy Make Up
Fashionista Lipsticks - £7.00 £1.50
MUA Lipsticks - £1.00
MUA Lip Liner - £1.00

Of course the first thing I looked at were the lipsticks! As I was browsing on MUA's website I came across a brand called Fashionista which had their lipsticks reduced from £7.00 to £1.50, & it would have been rude if I didn't buy every colour they had left in stock wouldn't it? (You know you would have done the same) The colours are stunning - Raspberry, Ultra Pink & Baby Doll Pink - they are uber pigmented! Considering how cheap the MUA lipsticks & lip liners are, you can't really expect them to last as long you would a Mac lippie but surprisingly they do last quite well! Shade 4 is the least pigmented & I had to swatch it at least 4 times before I got any sort of colour, so if you're looking for a very pigmented lipstick I wouldn't recommend this one. I love shade 13. I rarely wear red lipsticks so this was perfect for me to try & test. Glad I did as I know that I'll definitely be wearing this a lot!
Matte Perfect Loose Powder - £2.30
Pressed Powder - £1.00
Cream Blush - £2.00
Blusher - £1.00
All in all I would definitely recommend MUA products. I think they are perfect if you're new to make up & are looking to try different products.
Have you ever used MUA or Fashionista products before?
What's your opinion on them?

New Purchases

Why is it whenever you pop out to buy one thing, you always end up buying so much more?! All of the Christmas Sale emails I received, I done a pretty good job of ignoring them as I got a ton of stuff for Christmas. However after a trip into town to buy some cotton wool pads I ended up giving in & having a splurge. Damn you willpower! The majority of it was at a discount so that makes it better right?

(I warn you now for the amount of photos which are about to come ha)

River Island & Topshop Haul
 River Island £50 £20

After seeing this fairly recently on the gorgeous Sam Faiers I fell in love with this beautiful Grecian maxi dress. Of course I hunted it down straight away & ended up talking myself out of buying it, I know £50 is cheap for a dress but I 'tried' telling myself I didn't need anymore dresses & had too many. So when I saw this for just £20 I knew it was meant to be! It looks very flattering on & would be perfect for a holiday or wedding. The colour is a lovely Emerald, the picture I've taken really doesn't do the colour any justice!

River Island £70 £35

I have been looking all over for a pair of Chelsea boots which aren't too bulky at the front, as having narrow feet it does look a bit daft. These are a perfect fit & are super comfy too. I love the gold detail at the back, very nice that is. I'll definitely be wearing these boots to within a inch of their life - I can tell.

River Island £25
Now it would be rude to buy a dress & shoes & leave out a new bag wouldn't it? Having ruined my other envelope clutch bag, I needed to find an even better replacement. I love the fact that I can fit a purse, keys, lipstick, hair brush AND perfume with room to spare! I know most people prefer to have a smaller evening bag, but if you're like me & have to have the kitchen sink in your bag then this would be perfect for you.
Topshop £89
Now I am rather partial to buying a new winter coat every year. (I've already brought 2 this year but that's beside the point.) I have been eyeing this up online for a while now & as soon as I laid my eyes on it in the shop I knew I had to have it. Being pale pink it will be a bit hard to wear with certain colours of clothing but I love a pink coat & the fact that it's an over sized boyfriend coat makes me love it even more.
Topshop £30 £10
Everyone needs a white dress of some sort in their wardrobe, well that's my motto anyway. This is a stunning textured skater dress which can be dressed up or down. Only £10 - happy days!
Topshop £26 £12
Hi my name's Charlotte & I'm addicted to shoes. There are still more to come. No really, I brought 2 more pairs - I told you I was a shoe addict. These are a simple bronze dolly style shoe, however with the cut out backs they just look so much more than that! I love them.
Topshop £28 £12
I know it's a tad early to be buying sandals but at a bargain price like this how can you not put these in your shopping bag? I brought these in another colour too.
Topshop £28 £15
Told you.
