Goodbye 2014!

I cannot believe it's New Years Eve! This has been the quickest year ever, where has it gone?! (I say this every year but it really has flown this time) 2014 has been a bit of a rocky one for me with lots of up and downs so I'm really looking forward to saying goodbye to 2014 and hello to 2015!

On a more positive note I've made some amazing memories with loved ones and I've learnt so much which has helped me grow into a much happier, confident and stronger person. I've got the best family and friends you could ask for, Matt and I are stronger than ever and I've ticked off lots of places I wanted to visit on my bucket list. After this reflection I'm so grateful for everything I have and as I'm not one for new year resolutions (mainly because they go within the first week!) I know that after this year I can take on anything when I know I have such wonderful, loving people around me!

So here's to a very happy, healthy and special 2015 and I can't wait for more exciting memories and experiences for us all!

The Perfect Kim K Highlighter

Mac Prep & Prime Highlighter Light Boost Review
Hello my darlings I hope you all had a lovely Christmas! One of my favourite parts about my full make up routine is contouring and highlighting. It's not something I do everyday but when I do I really aim for a Kim K inspired look. Whether you're a fan of her or not, you've got to admit that she (or maybe her make up artist) is the Queen when it comes to this! I've wanted Mac Prep + Prime Highlighter for the longest time as I've heard such fab things about it so when Matt brought me this for Christmas I was SO happy (he does listen!)

The shade I have is Light Boost which is yellow based so it's perfect for counteracting any discolouration whilst brightening at the same time adding instant luminosity and radiance. I love that this is a clicky pen so you can apply exactly where you want with precision without wasting product. I tried using this as a concealer for underneath my eyes as I know lots of people do however I found it creased a lot for me so I now apply this over my concealer and it's perfect! It doesn't look thick or cakey as it has such a lightweight, creamy texture that blends like a dream. I also use this to highlight the bridge of my nose, forehead, chin and on my cheeks just underneath where I contour to add more dimension.

As you can most probably tell I love this highlighter and I have a feeling it's easily going to become a staple item of mine. I don't know how I've gone this long without it!

Blogmas Day 24 | MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Merry Christmas beauties! ONE MORE SLEEP TO GO!!! Ahhh I'm TOO excited! I'm currently getting ready for an early Christmas Day round Matt's as he is spending tomorrow at mine and his Sister won't be there tomorrow either so they've decided to do their dinner today instead. I'm lucky having two Christmas Days aren't I?! I don't know how I'm going to tackle 2 roast dinners with all the trimmings in 2 days though! What are your plans for today and tomorrow? I can't believe that Blogmas has come to an end, I've LOVED blogging everyday and I'm so happy that I managed to post everyday as it's not something I've done for so many days in a row. I've proved to myself that I can do it and I feel proud as to me it's such an achievement. Bloggers who do this everyday as well as hold down a full time job - you're amazing! Since doing this it's definitely made me want to blog even more in the New Year which is very exciting.

I hope you all have a very merry Christmas, get spoilt rotten and eat LOADS!

Love to you all

P.S Sorry for the bit of dribble hanging out of my cats mouth, he loved his Santa's hat way too much!

Blogmas Day 23 | Christmassy Snaps

Christmas Snaps
I'm feeling so festive right now! It's Christmas Eve Eve and I've officially finished work for Christmas so the festive tunes are on and I'm wrapping my mountain of pressies. My house currently looks like Santas Grotto so I've taken a few snaps of my favourite/most meaningful decorations to share with you and hopefully get you into the Christmas spirit!
Christmas Snaps
I've gone for a Scottie Dog and Tartan wrapping theme this year, I think it's really cute especially with the red bows! If you need some last minute, pretty wrapping paper I brought these from Boots.

Our Christmas tree is a very meaningful tree as opposed to a matching one. All of our baubles have a different story behind them from when we've been away and brought a new decoration as a reminder to when my brother and I were younger and made one (They still go on although they're slightly hidden round the side of the tree! Haha) I took photos of all of my favourites and when I uploaded them to my laptop I realised I had far too many so here are 3 of my favourites, obviously an owl had to make an appearance!

Blogmas Day 22 | Festive Make Up

Red lipstick was a colour I used to be scared of. I always felt like I looked too over the top and that it didn't suit me so I stuck to what I knew and that was nudes and soft pinks. This was until I very recently discovered this gorgeous lipstick from Bourjois. It's not a colour that I feel confident enough to wear everyday but as it's Christmas I thought what's more festive than a red lip, pale skin and a winged out eyeliner?!

Blogmas Day 21 | My New Favourite Everyday Lipstick

MAC Please Me Lipstick Review and Swatches
MAC Please Me Lipstick Review and Swatches

MAC Please Me Lipstick Review and Swatches
MAC Please Me Lipstick Review and Swatches
MAC Please Me Lipstick Review and Swatches
Please Me by Mac has been on my wish list for the longest time so when I received this as a Secret Santa gift from work I was over the moon! This is a beautiful dusky pink although I reckon if your lips are more pigmented than mine it would very much look like your lips but better. This is perfect for everyday as this is such a classy nudey pink, one that doesn't scream Barbie or is too out there. As this is matte I wasn't sure if I'd like it that much as I normally love creamy, buttery formulas but I actually prefer this. The staying power and pigmentation of this is AMAZING! I know this lipstick will last me forever as one swipe of application is all you need and you're good to go. You can eat, drink, kiss with this on your lips and guess what?! It's still there! I don't know about you but I've never found a light lipstick which has the super staying power like this!

This is the kind of pink that I think should be a holy grail item in everyone's make up bag as it's universally flattering on all kind of skin tones and is so gorgeous!

Blogmas Day 20 | Top 5 Fashion Buys Of 2014

Can you believe that it's FIVE DAYS till Christmas?!?! I'm TOO excited! Next thing we know, we'll be entering 2015! With this thought in mind I thought it would be fun to rummage through my wardrobe and choose my top 5 fashion buys of this year. At one point whilst doing this I had around 15 items so narrowing it down to just 5 was pretty tricky as you can most probably imagine but here are my 5 favourites! :)
Top 5 Fashion Buys Of 2014
This is the dress that changed it all! If I ever went out I'd always wear shift or a floaty type of dress, bodycon was unheard of in my wardrobe. This was mainly down to being so self conscious about having something clingy that showed my figure - oh how things have changed! I remember seeing Amanda Holden in a Victoria Beckham dress exactly the same as this, falling in love with it and then seeing it on New Look's website for the bargainous price of £22.99. It's such a classy dress that can be worn for numerous amounts of occasions and the material is perfect, it doesn't cling to any unwanted areas at all! I always get complimented when I wear this and I'm not normally someone who wears the same dress twice but I've worn this more than once!
Top 5 Fashion Buys Of 2014
This has been an essential for me this year. (If any of you follow me on Instagram then you probably have noticed) It's your basic cropped fluffy jumper but I find it adds that little bit more to an outfit and really compliments it. I've worn this casual with jeans and I've dressed it up with a bodycon midi skirt or smart trousers, it really does look lovely with any outfit and occasion!
Top 5 Fashion Buys Of 2014
This one is a slightly more recent addition to my wardrobe, I brought this at the beginning of November and a day hasn't passed that I've not worn it. I'd been after a camel coat like this for a while so when I saw it in Topshop for only £59.00 it was instantly mine! I love that this is so chic and is a timeless classic that I know won't go out of fashion.
Top 5 Fashion Buys Of 2014
Like the coat above as soon as I got this it instantly became a staple. I love wearing florals and pastel colours during Summer so this was right up my street! I'm not normally one to shop in New Look but I've brought some staples this year!
Top 5 Fashion Buys Of 2014
The shoes that took me months to hunt down and were well worth the wait! I ordered these in black too and since then I don't think I've had a night out where I've not worn either pair. Simple and classy, these have got a lot of loving this year (although whether I can walk in them properly is a different story!)

Blogmas Day 19 | A Day In The Life

I've seen a few of these type of posts recently which I really enjoyed reading so I thought I'd join in on the fun too! I decided to take a few snaps on Sunday as it was my day off so I done some more Christmas shopping, ahem mainly for myself, it was also my Nans Birthday so we had a little family get together and went out for a Sunday roast.
A Day In The Life
I started my day by having a healthy brekkie as I knew I'd be having a huge, carb-orrific, roast dinner later on. Here I have muesli with almond milk and some chia seeds - yum! If you're looking to find some healthy, organic breakfast ideas I'd highly recommend Rude Health, I promise you that their food doesn't taste like cardboard!
A Day In The Life
Face of the day done! I recently brought Nars Sheer Glow, why has it taken me this long to buy?! I love it! It gives you such a flawless, natural finish that I've not found with any other foundation. I have a feeling this may make it onto my HG list.
A Day In The Life
I then had a quick, last minute trip into town to get a few more Christmas pressies and I also realised that my addiction to Lush is getting slightly out of hand.. This is the largest bag they have - it was literally half the size of me! I hope all my friends and family enjoy baths as you know what you'll be getting this year haha
A Day In The Life
A Day In The Life
We then went to one of our locals for dinner where it was really cosy and festive with Christmas songs on and a cute log burner. It was also a Charlotte vs Food moment with the mountain of food I had, food won this time round!
A Day In The Life
After that we went home, had a Lush bath and watched A New York Winter Tale (which is pretty good) and just had a chilled evening. I went out on the Friday and I was still suffering on the Sunday - I'm definitely getting old!
There's my Sunday in a select few photos, it wasn't anything special but I enjoyed doing this post. Have you done any of these type of posts before? If you have do leave links below as I love reading them!

Blogmas Day 18 | Lush Northern Lights Bath Bomb

Lush Northern Lights Bath Bomb Review
Once I've posted a Lush haul here on my blog it's not often that I feel the need to then review one product from that haul after. This is the exception. Let me start by saying if you haven't tried this limited edition bath bomb yet then you need to! I would easily say that it's up there with my love for Dragons Egg (and we all know how much I love that!) This one puts on a real galaxy-like display leaving explosions of purple, yellow and blue in its path eventually leaving your tub a beautiful shade of purple. This has a gorgeous floral scent as it contains Jasmine and Ylang Ylang with subtle hints of citrus which lingers on your skin after making you smell scrummy. Like I've found with most Lush bath bombs it really softens your skin as well as your bath water, a weird statement to make but I'm sure all you Lush addicts know what I'm talking about! The shape of this is unlike any other from their collection which is what makes this even more alluring and you could easily break this up into two.

This is probably my favourite scent of their Christmas range that I've tried so far and I urge all of you to try it before it runs out! You can buy this little beauty here from their website for £3.50 :)

Have you tried this bath bomb?

Blogmas Day 17 | All Gone! Make Up & Skin Care Empties

Beauty Empties
Beauty Empties
Beauty Empties
I find it extremely satisfying when I use up something completely. I always tend to find that I'm half way through using something then I'll buy something new which I instantly love and then start using that instead so I have lots of half used products cluttering up my bedroom and bathroom. Here are the used up products, I warn you there's a LOT, that I've been collecting for the past few weeks to review.

Sienna X Fake Tan
I'm not ready to embrace my Winter skin just yet.. Sienna X is my favourite of all the fake tans out there, I find it looks so natural, isn't drying and smells lovely too. I brought 3 bottles at a beauty show in September and I used it on average once, twice at most, a week and I've only just finished the bottle. Great value for money!

Moroccan Oil
If you have dyed/dry hair then this oil will be your life saver! This has been a holy grail of mine for around 2 years and I couldn't be without it. This leaves my hair feeling so soft and healthy so it's fab for over-processed locks and dry ends. Even though it's on the pricey side it's well worth investing as no cheaper alternatives can compare and it lasts you months! This smells amazing too so you also get the salon experience at home.

Elemis Toner Apricot
I brought this in May and used it twice a day so I'd say that is pretty long lasting wouldn't you?! I love that this is a spritz so you can't use too much and waste product which I tend to find I always do when it comes to toners. I will be repurchasing this but in Lavender as that's better for a combination skin type.

TIGI Rockaholic Hair Spray
I planned on using this as a travel hair spray due to it's handy size, it held my hair quite well but it gave off quite a crusty/sticky finish which is a shame as I had high hopes for this! So I didn't waste it I just used this for when I had my hair in a bun for work.

Elemis Frangipani Body Oil
I already have another of these in the cupboard ready to use! I'm sure some of you are well aware that this is my favourite body product ever, everything about it is just perfection. One thing I do have to say though that I've found on numerous times is when you put it in the bath, to melt the oil, part of the red packaging floats off resulting in a half packaged half clear bottle. I wouldn't mind if it was cheap but at £31.50 I guess I was expecting something a little more durable.

ESPA Balancing Face Oil
This is my go-to throughout Summer. This is amazing at balancing out the oils in your skin and is full of rich anti-oxidants, vitamins and minerals. This really is such a luxurious product and has that spa like experience at home. I've started their Replenishing face treatment oil now that it's Winter - I can't get enough of it!

Elemis Toner Lavender
My Mum received this in a travel gift set and gave it to me as I have combination skin. I left this at Matt's house as I have a little collection of skin care products there for when I stay. LOVE it! It smells gorgeous and has really helped balance out my t-zone. I'll definitely be picking this up in full size.

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer
My HG of all concealers! Amazing, amazing, amazing. You can read my rave review here

L'Oreal True Match Foundation
I feel like this is every bloggers favourite high street foundation and I can see why, it really is fab! This has become a holy grail high street foundation for me after seeing Lauren Curtis rave about it so many times!

Dove Deoderant

Hair Burst Tablets
The best thing since sliced bread! You can read my full review here

Elemis Rose & Jasmine Milk Bath
If you're after a real luxurious bath product then this is for you. The blend of Rose and Jasmine is heavenly - this is heaven in a bottle! Your skin feels so supple after that you need minimal moisturiser. I have a sample size here and it lasted 3/4 tubs so with their full size 400ml this would last you ages! It's very similar to their Milk Bath, which is a firm favourite of mine and I must admit I do prefer, this is just as gorgeous too though.

ESPA Bio Active Eye Cleanser
I've been on the hunt for an eye cleanser which removes mascara quickly, isn't greasy and is suitable for sensitive eyes - this is it and so much more! This does all of the above as well as hydrates your eye area and conditions your lashes. Love, love, love it!

L'Oreal Telescopic Mascara
I brought this after I saw Carli Bybel mention this was a holy grail item of hers. The design of this mascara wand is superb, it separates your lashes helping your to avoid any clumpy, spidery lashes making them beautifully long and fluttery! For a more indepth review you can read it here :)

This is my first empties post, do you like these kind of posts?

Blogmas Day 16 | My Signature Scent Chloé Perfume

Chloé Perfume Review | My Signature Scent
If you're looking for a floral fragrance that's chic and feminine then this is the perfume for you. It. Is. Beautiful! From the bottle, the tied bow and the stunning scent inside, everything is just perfection. Featuring a wonderful a blend of peony, lychee, springtime freesia, rose, magnolia, lily, warm amber and cedarwood - this really is love at first sniff and is heaven for your senses! This lasts for HOURS. Literally all day and night, even the next day, I especially tend to find this in coats. Sometimes I can't smell this myself but other people can and someone once told me that the best perfumes are the ones you can't smell yourself. Every time I wear this I get compliments and the amount of people who have gone and brought a bottle after getting a whiff of me is crazy - I think I should have shares!

This has been my signature scent for around 5 years and nothing compares, I love it! This is the ultimate classy scent which I don't think will ever lose it's beautiful appeal.

What's your signature scent?

Blogmas Day 15 | Happy 1st Birthday Vanity Fairest!

I can't believe it's been a whole year since I sat down, joined the world of blogging and wrote my first ever blog post. Wow how time has passed me by! I remember being too self conscious to upload a photo of myself so I played it safe, done a tag (which I tagged myself haha) and feeling so excited when I hit the 'publish' button. I still feel just as excited if not more so, which is what I believe is what it's all about!  A lot has changed in a year, I've learned a lot and I'm still learning a lot. The quality of my posts have improved, as has my self-confidence and I feel so much happier!

I'd also like to take this opportunity to say thank you so much to anyone who comments, tweets and emails me as you wouldn't believe how much it brightens up my day. I've made such lovely friends through my little blog and I can honestly say that's my favourite part about blogging! To know that I can just come online and talk to like-minded others who share the same interests and just get me really is amazing.Whether you've been here from the very beginning or you've recently just followed me, I'd like to give you all a big hug!

Happy 1st Birthday my little blog - you're one of the best things I've ever done and I couldn't be any happier!

Blogmas Day 14 | Winter Skin Care Routine

Winter Skin Care Routine | Elemis, ESPA, Korres
A few months ago I posted my everyday and evening summer skin care routine (here and here) The majority of the products are still the same however I've changed a couple of the products I use in both routines, mainly moisturisers, as my skin feels much dryer and tighter now that it's pretty chilly so here are a few products which are perfect to hydrate and replenish!
Winter Skin Care Routine | Elemis, ESPA, Korres
Elemis Maximum Moisture Day Cream
This does exactly what is says on the tube! I do have normal/combo skin however I've found that now the heating's on and I'm going from a lovely warm house out into the bitter cold my skin is taking a beating and feels much dryer, especially on my cheeks. Since using this every morning my skin feels soft and hydrated without leaving a oily residue as I've found in the past using a hydrating product when you have combination skin can make you look greasy, this isn't the case here at all as it's a really light texture. My best friend Lydia has uber sensitive skin and she gets along really well with this moisturiser, so if you're really sensitive too then this may be worth you trying!

ESPA Replenishing Face Oil
This is an amazing treatment for your mush and is a staple item for me throughout Winter as it deeply nourishes your skin leaving it feeling beautifully silky soft. I always apply this in the evening before my moisturiser just so it has enough time to fully absorb. I raved about this product here.
Winter Skin Care Routine | Elemis, ESPA, Korres
Korres Lip Butter
I love this lip balm! The formula is amazing, it feels so creamy when applying and afterwards your lips feel so soft and hydrated, this is the perfect treatment for chapped lips! This also adds a really subtle hint of colour so if you don't want to apply a lipstick after then you don't need to. One thing I'm not a fan of is the unhygienic packaging but other than that this receives top marks.

Elemis S.O.S Emergency Cream
This is the perfect moisturiser for a combination/blemished skin type. It's fab at reducing any redness and if I have a spot/break out I apply a blob of this in the evening before I go to sleep and in the morning its pretty much disappeared! This has a fairy thick texture however it soon absorbs. It's on the pricey side but for the results you get it's completely worth it!

Do you change up your skin care routine throughout Winter?
What are your holy grail skin care items?
