The Christmas Tag 2013

As it's Christmas Day in 10 more sleeps (eeeeek!) what a better way to start my first blog post with The Christmas Tag 2013!

1.  Do you prefer a real Christmas tree or synthetic?
I've never had a real Christmas tree! My mum says that she got put off the idea of having one after one year her cat decided to climb up it & completely destroyed it on Christmas Eve. I do love our synthetic tree though as it's a 7ft with plenty of thick bristles which we absolutely cram full of fairy lights & decorations!

2.  You're in a coffee shop, it's December, what do you pick?

Hot Chocolate with lashings of whipped cream & plenty of marshmallows, of course! I'm not a lover of coffee, so it always has to be a Hot Choc for me.

3.  What's your favourite colour scheme for decorating the tree?
The decorations we put on our family tree are a complete mismatch! My mum & I were decorating the tree last weekend & I came across a few decorations I had made her when I was younger, which was really sweet. Our decorations are all quite sentimental as we have collected them over the years from when we've been away around Christmas time. I wouldn't have our tree decorated any other way!

4.  Giving or receiving?
Erm, BOTH! Who doesn't like the excitement of presents?! I have so much fun & joy buying them for my loved ones & love seeing their faces light up when they open up their gifts. I'm usually really organised with my Christmas prezzies & am normally all done by mid November, although this year I do seem to think that I have more time left than what I've actually got.

 5.  To mince pie or not to?
The only time I'll ever eat a mince pie is when I look in the cupboards post Christmas & all the chocolate has been eaten & only mince pies are left - which is a very rare occasion!

6.  What's your traditional Sunday lunch?
To start it would have to be either prawn cocktail or smoked salmon & for a main we usually have a selection of Turkey, Gammon & Beef with loads of roasties, piggy in blankets, Yorkshire puddings & veg. We have been out for dinner before but it definitely wasn't the same & I am quite partial to turkey sandwiches in the evening!

7.  Christmas day fashion
It would feel so weird opening my Christmas presents in anything but my onesie. Then for dinner I get all dolled up, although this year I think I'm going to rock my 'Merry Christmas Ya Filthy Animal' jumper!

8.  What's your favourite Christmas song?
I can only choose one?! I love them all. This year my favourite Christmas song (which is on repeat in my car) is Michael Buble - Baby Please Come Home. I do love a good sing/hum along to them all, even though I don't know half the words.

9.  What's your favourite Christmas film?
Ok, the song choice was hard enough & now I have to choose my favourite Christmas film? The Polar Express, The Snowman, Jack Frost, Love Actually, Christmas Carol & Home Alone 1/2 are some of my all time favourites! Watching the classic It's A Wonderful Life at least once before Christmas day is a tradition.

10.  Open presents before or after lunch?
First thing in the morning! Is anyone seriously willing to resist the temptation of opening their presents until after their dinner?

I hope you enjoyed reading my Christmas Tag & finding out about my traditions. Have you done your Christmas Tag this year? I would love the read yours, comment with your links below & I'll check them out!
