3 DIY Hair Masks

DIY masks for your hair are the perfect way to repair & replenish your hair & leave it feeling nourished & healthy, not to mention nice & shiny too! The use of a hair mask will always benefit your hair, regardless of your hair type. There are so many hair masks & conditioners available on the market right now. You can use a shop brought mask, or make your very own DIY hair mask - you'll also be saving yourself some money too. Creating a mask at home isn't as difficult as it sounds & most of the ingredients are things in your kitchen anyway!

Coconut Oil Hair Mask

Coconut oil doesn't only smell heavenly, it's also one of the best oils to be applied on your hair. Invest in a jar of extra virgin coconut oil - you can use this in so many more ways, but today I'll be sharing how to use this as a hair mask. I lavish my hair from root to end, mainly focusing on the ends, until my hair is smothered with the oil. Apply a shower cap & leave it on for 15-30 minutes. Wash your hair thoroughly and you're done! Another little tip is to apply a very tiny amount of the coconut oil to the very tips of your hair every night to keep split ends at bay.

Avocado & Egg Yolk Hair Mask
Blend 1/2 an avocado & a egg yolk in the blender & apply to your hair from root to end. Leave for 15-30 minutes, wash your hair thoroughly & shampoo & condition as usual. Avocados are highly moisturising & egg yolks are full of fats & proteins to naturally restore your hair.
Olive Oil & Honey Hair Mask
Heat 4 tablespoons of olive oil for 20 seconds in the microwave, apply 2 tablespoons of honey & mix together. After you have applied the product to your hair, wrap your hair in a shower cap & leave for around 15-30 minutes. Shampoo & condition as normal. This hair mask is ultra hydrating & will leave your hair feeling super soft!

Try applying these masks in the shower/bath after you shampoo – the heat will open up your hair follicles and allow the masks to penetrate much deeper.
Have you ever tried a DIY Hair Mask? What's your favourite?
